A spur of the moment invitation changes two lives.
Jordan Wolf’s company runs like a well-oiled machine. At least until his PA, Brady Donovan, comes down with the flu and takes sick leave. Then Jordan discovers what a treasure Brady is and who really keeps his business—and Jordan in particular—moving like clockwork. So when Jordan needs a plus-one, Brady seems the obvious choice to accompany him. After a major shopping trip to get Brady looking the part, however…. Wow.
Brady has a whole new wardrobe, and now his boss is whisking him away for a weekend party. Something is going on, something Brady never expected: Jordan is looking at him like he’s never seen him before, electrifying Brady’s long-hidden desires.
But can the romantic magic last when the weekend is over and it’s back to reality?
REVIEW:
Jordan Wolf is a man who’s used to things going his way. He’s worked hard to build a well-running company but it isn’t until his assistant Brady falls ill and takes time off that he realizes how much the young man has helped him. It doesn’t take long for him to realize how valuable Brady really is…in more ways than one.
Brady Donovan works very hard at his job. He works even harder to hide his huge crush on his boss, something that keeps getting harder, especially after Jordan really begins to see him.
This novel is a true romance, in the best way. Watching Jordan and Brady navigate their way through the boss/employee minefield toward a meaningful relationship is very rewarding. The moments of doubt and worry are honest and feel very real. The issues they face aren’t just dismissed, but dealt with in the proper way and I find it very refreshing.
I enjoy very much how the author doesn’t drag everything out, making it over dramatic and silly. I always enjoy this author’s work and while this is a little different from the BDSM stories that are my favorites from them, it’s still wonderfully written.
The author does a great job of making sure that both characters don’t have to drastically change who they are, but instead Jordan and Brady learn to accept themselves and each as the men they’ve always been as they make room in their lives for each other.
Jordan’s friends Belinda and Drake are great catalysts for change, especially in Jordan and the only side characters of real note. Besides the evil witch of course. Every good romance seems to have one of those.
Watching Jordan come to realize who Brady really is, to see him in a different light was fun. Brady has an air of innocence about him that I found irresistible, but his competence is very attractive as well.
If you’re looking for a story that will leave you smiling, then this is definitely for you. There’s not a lot of angst, which is usually something I’d miss, but this time it really doesn’t matter. Jordan and Brady’s journey is compelling and sweet and I loved everything about it.
