Hagen didn’t want to be Baxter’s Dom. He wanted to be his Daddy.
College professor Hagen St. Croix is done with his life as a Dom since his two previous boys left him. When his former club organizes an event, he wants to go…but not alone. He finds a date-for-hire through the Valentine’s Inc. app, but he’s shocked when his date turns out to be his sexy student Baxter Lafelle, and even more shocked by the feelings Baxter evokes in him.
When tragedy strikes for Baxter, Hagen realizes that he doesn’t want to be his Dom. He wants to be his Daddy… But will Baxter let him? And what happens when their contract is up?
Kissing the Teacher is a full-sized (73k words), sexy and sweet MM romance with daddy kink, a May/December relationship, and a very happily ever after. It’s part of the Valentine’s Inc. series but can be read as a stand alone, since these books are only connected through a shared premise.
REVIEW:
You know, I’m not a huge fan of Daddy kinks. I liked them, don’t get me wrong, but there are other tropes I’ve always liked more. But this book has quickly adjusted my thinking on the whole subject. Damn. This book broke my heart so many times, but it was so worth it. The connection they had just made everything worth. They just had to go through some stuff to get to the good parts.
Baxter is at the end of his rope. Working two jobs and going to school full time is draining him. He can’t make tuition, barely eats, barely sleeps, and is doing all he can to pass his classes. Now he’s in trouble because he was caught sleeping in Professor St. Croix’s class. It wouldn’t be so bad if St. Croix was being such a snob and a dick, and if Baxter didn’t think he was hot. His friend helps him find a third job that pays more money, and just as he’s starting he’s confronted by St. Croix on his date. He’s humiliated and Professor got everything all wrong. When they meet up for a date through Baxter’s third job at Valentine’s Inc, everything comes to a head. Baxter puts Professor in his place but Professor has no idea how bad it really is. They go through what their ‘dates’ entail, until one afternoon Baxter is late and something bad happens. Hagen realizes how bad Baxter has it, and he feels horrible. Lower than dirt. And he’s finally found out what’s been missing in his life. He wants to be Baxter’s ‘Daddy’. Now if he can get Baxter on board with his thinking, life just may end up perfect.
Dear heaven, what Baxter is dealing with is rough. And sadly, so many are going through the same thing. When Hagen first started berating Baxter for falling asleep in class and such, I really wanted to slap him silly. He acted so pompous and asinine. He didn’t give Baxter really a chance to explain anything. Although, Baxter wouldn’t have said too much, because he felt so humiliated and embarrassed. Baxter was doing all he can. When they started their dates through Valentine’s Inc, Hagen still wasn’t getting a clue. Baxter had given so many clues without even saying a word but Hagen just put him through his training as a sub. But it got too much for Baxter. Everything did. And when it all broke loose, I actually felt sorry for Hagen as well. He basically shoved both feet in his mouth and it was time to make it right.
The hard part with both of these guys is that they both had some bad relationships that left them very hurt and hard to trust. Hell, neither had taken up new relationships. It’s hard to get back on the saddle after that kind of hurt. When Hagen finally figured out how he wanted his relationship with Baxter to be, it fell into place for him. But it would take a lot of work and trust on both of their parts.
This is such a great book. I love it. I suggest some tissues with this one for sure.
