It was supposed to be just sex… Famous last words.
Tyler doesn’t overthink pleasure and avoids complications. He knows it might be stupid to get involved with his closeted boss, but the temptation is too great. At first, the cold and beautiful Joel Sandstrom seems to loathe Tyler’s guts.
Except one late night at the office, his reasons become clear…and his control breaks.
Every time they touch, Joel’s stony face comes alive, harsh lines smooth out, and for a minute, he looks serene. Happy, even. Just sex – dirty, intense, spectacular sex.
During their covert encounters, Tyler discovers the power he has over the lonesome man, and it’s a heady feeling. What if he could set Joel free and give him peace of mind? When Tyler realizes how much Joel needs him, he doesn’t regret breaking his own rules.

REVIEW:
Tyler is a man who knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. And his gorgeous boss is on the top of his wish list.
Joel is not who he seems to be. His public persona is completely different from who he is in private and it’s completely intriguing to Tyler.
I liked both of these men. Tyler’s confidence in his sense of self is hard to resist, as is his take charge attitude with Joel. That attitude is something that Joel craves but he finds it hard to tell Tyler that.
Joel makes me sad and while I don’t want to spoil things for you, just know that there’s a good reason for him to be hiding his true self.
Misunderstandings and a lack of communication are the main source of angst in this story, although there is a shot of evil that made me wanna cringe every time he showed up. Watching Ty and Joel dance around each other, taking 2 steps forward and 3 steps back is frustrating but in the best way. I spend a lot of time just wanting to say “just say what you mean for the love of god!” and yes, that’s a good thing.
This was a good story. It kept me interested enough to keep reading through to the end. The main characters are well-developed and easy to connect with, although there’s not much in the way of side characters, beyond Joel’s father, whom I loathed.
There’s nothing wrong with this story, at least nothing I can put my finger on, and it’s a pretty good read, but it didn’t blow me away. Everything was pretty predictable, and there were no real surprises for me, but I did enjoy the journey to the happily ever after that both Tyler and Joel deserved.
The writing is solid and so is the editing so kudos all around for that. This is my first book from this author and I definitely will be looking for more from them. I enjoy their writing style and I’m curious to see what else they have to offer.
