SARINA

Ghost of a Chance (Requiem Inc., #1)

Ghost of a Chance by Kris T. Bethke

I love paranormal books but this was such a neat and unique idea I had a hard time putting it down. Great world building and I adored the characters.  Well worth the read.

Apocalypse Alley (Blue Unicorn, #2)

Apocalypse Alley (Blue Unicorn #2) by Don Allmon

While I liked the first book in the series, the author won me over completely with this one.  I hated the main character in the previous story but I found myself absolutely loving him by the end of this one.  Very well done!

Dragon Magic

Dragon Magic by Megan Derr

LOVED THIS! I stayed up way too late in my desperation to finish the story because I didn’t want to wait to see how it ended because of a pesky little thing like sleep.  Unique characters and a wonderful story that is WELL worth the read.

 Captain Merric

Captain Merric by Rebecca Cohen

I have one word for you: Pirates.  If that isn’t enough for you than I can’t help you. Lol. Seriously though, a surprisingly enjoyable read with a deeper story and character connection than I was expecting.

Beholden

Beholden by Kris T. Bethke

Great urban fantasy; I loved how magical workings within a law enforcement environment were portrayed.  Really good world building and story; I’d really love to see a sequel!

 Night of the Living Manny

Night of the Living Manny by Julia Talbot

Sooo good! I adored how the author brought about the zombie apocalypse in a unique way and the Manny just made it better. Really, you wouldn’t think this would work as well as it did but the entire thing was quite plausible and that really made it a better read in my opinion.

  1. I am afraid I have not read any of the books in your list, Sarina. Even more, most of the authors are new to me. I’ll make sure to check on them!

  2. Thanks for sharing. I read the Dreamspun Beyond books and have Don Allmon and Megan Derr on my to-read list. Captain Merric might also be a book I’d like. Awesome list!

  3. Have enjoyed other Rebecca Cohen, so Pirates!
And I unexpectedly enjoyed other Megan Derr Dragon books so whilst I’ve not read/got any of these I will look into them.more!

  4. I really like Ghost of a Chance and will have to read Beholden. Thanks for sharing your list, there are several I need to check out.
