Happy Winter Solstice! I’ve always loved this marking of the shortest day of the year – we’ve reached the deepest darkness and now await the return of the light. I have a winter solstice short story that I love and want to share with you. It’s a bit too long to enclose in this post, so I’ve posted it to my blog for your enjoyment.
If you are in the holiday spirit, there are so many cute holiday stories out right now. I recently read Annabeth Albert’s Better Not Pout and thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, fluffy tale. And Dreamspinner is having a 40% off sale on their holiday stories, which include my A Holiday Crush and Home is Where the Christmas Trees Are.
As far as writing goes for the year, I’m happy to have published one novella and completed another which is in edits. A lot has been going on in my personal and family life and it was not the year for writing productivity. It was more a year for connecting with my writing community – creating a writers retreat, giving readings at the local Barnes & Noble, attending Pride events in my and neighboring cities.
Next month I will be attending our 2nd annual writers retreat at the Oregon coast and I’ll use the time to reflect on 2018 and look forward to 2019 – and report back to you in my January post.
Until then, happy holidays and a joyous new year…
