THIS DEBATE IS HEATING UP MORE THAN JUST THE AIRWAVES…
Battling back from losing everything in a scandal that cost him the chance to be elected to the U.S. Senate, disgraced politician Caine Williams is learning to take things one day at a time. The opportunity to host a political talk show, Raising Caine, on PRIDE XM Radio, is the next step in getting his life back.
Up-and-coming Republican political commentator Darwin Edwards is hoping a guest appearance on Raising Caine will give him some national exposure and take his career to the next level. The last thing he expects is such a strong attraction to his annoyingly liberal co-host. Impressed by the ratings brought in by Caine and Darwin’s broadcast, the powers that be ask Darwin to join the show permanently, and sparks begin to fly between the co-hosts both in and out of the studio.
Can Darwin and Caine learn to work together or will their budding attraction be nipped in the bud before it can evolve into something more?
REVIEW:
So, I sit here writing this, still bawling. Of course, if any of you pay attention, you know I bawl a lot. But damn, you authors know how to hit me right in the feels, every. Damn. Time. I loved this book. I love the characters. I’m so glad to see them all together and growing. My only complaint is watch the names. I catch that a lot. Putting in one name when you mean another. It kinda throws stuff off. But other than that I recommend.
You know when you start a relationship, when it starts, it’s that whole honeymoon phase. If you’re fortunate enough to find the right one, the honeymoon lasts a lifetime. Now, that doesn’t mean there aren’t fights. It doesn’t mean the sex doesn’t cool off. Or things may get a little dull. Or you may want to beat your partner over the head with a hammer off and on. It just means if you’ve found the right one, you’ve not only found a lover, you’ve found a friend, a confidant, someone that has your back.
When Darwin and Caine met another, they were enemies. More or less. The attraction was there and it was sparking. They were on two different sides of political things though, for the most part and got under each other’s skins, bad. Being a guest on Caine’s talk show didn’t seem to help. But they seemed to work through it, forming a friendship, and soon…more. But as with any relationship, sometimes life just comes up and smacks the holy crap out of you and before you know it, feelings are hurt, hearts are broken and no one sees a way back. Communication is key. Always. And not yelling. Actual communication. And when no one is talking, it just festers. These two had a hell of a lot to overcome in their pasts. But it seemed Darwin was doing most of the sharing. When life hit, there was no foundation. Or not much of one really. Yeah, they were great friends and lovers but it still takes more. But could they overcome what life had to offer?
Angst. I know. You have to find out how it ends. I do have to say, there is one hell of a surprise ending. No sneak peaks either lol. It’s worth it. It’s a really good book.
