Given a second chance…would you make your ultimate fantasy a reality?
Kace
Kace McGinnis spent the last four years trying to forget everything about his previous life in a small Alabama town… everything except his high school infatuation – Sawyer Jensen. If Sawyer didn’t know who Kace was then, Kace definitely knew Sawyer: gorgeous, honor student, gymnastic enigma, and star football player. A boy Kace wouldn’t dare dream he’d ever have. The guys Kace now met in the big city were okay, but they weren’t Sawyer. Nothing like Sawyer.
At least until Kace stepped into Steam, Atlanta’s hottest male strip club, discovering the star entertainer looked almost like Sawyer. A little too much like him. But tattooed bad boy strippers were a definite no no on Kace’s check list of compatible guys. However, Kace might have to rethink his strict rules when Sawyer pursues him…and Kace finds himself growing totally infatuated again with the one guy he always wanted.
Sawyer
Demanding pressure caused golden boy, Sawyer Jensen, to rebel against everything he was raised to be after graduating high school. Using his good looks and muscled physique, he pursued an exciting life as a male stripper. Coaxed into taking a job at Steam in Atlanta as the main attraction, Sawyer is soon intrigued by a shy-cutie that looks familiar. Sawyer pursues Kace and contemplates more in life than just random hookups…unaware of Kace’s past super-secret high school crush.
When four years of suppressed hidden passion explodes, Kace faces increasing obstacles that threaten to destroy his one chance at finally landing his ultimate dream man.
REVIEW:
My first by this author and pretty good. I enjoyed it. I had to laugh because if I ran into my high school obsession I’d be floored too, especially if I found them as a main attraction at a strip club. I enjoyed these characters. Kace and Flynn, especially. That whole snarky relationship you can only have with your best friend. Lol it’s great. Although, I think they may have had a bit too much snark and bitch a couple of times. But oh, the way of best friends.
One thing I love that people seem to overlook so much, is the grass is not always greener. What may seem like a great life, often is a front hiding what’s really going on. So much truth to the saying of ‘Don’t judge a book…’. And that’s what happened here. Kace had a shitty life in high school. When he started a new school his junior year and saw Sawyer, Sawyer was it for him. He had the looks, the popularity, athletic, etc. Everyone seemed to love him, especially Kace. And Kace dreamed up what his ideal man (Sawyer) would grow up to be. Put him on a pedestal. One NO ONE would ever be able to live up to. Sawyer didn’t know this. He was a senior and had no clue really. Yeah, he noticed Kace but never acted on anything. But because Kace set such high standards, he was never happy with anyone as he got older. He wouldn’t get past his ‘ideal man’ in what Sawyer was supposed be. That’s no way to live. For either party.
When Kace finally saw Sawyer again, it was in a strip club, Steam. And Sawyer had definitely changed. And again, Kace was judging. Sawyer had changed. He no longer had the perfect job, perfect looks. Oh he was gorgeous still, but a few things had changed and Kace judged him for it. And when push came to shove, he almost lost his chance. Fear and judgement will get you every time. A big lesson to be learned here.
I almost didn’t like Sawyer at first. Well, I pretty much didn’t. He is that cocky, I- know-I’m-the-shit alpha butthead. So egotistical. He had his dick sucked not the other way around kind of person. One of those you wish would get knocked down a peg or two. And Kace, bless him, did just that. By Kace not giving in for a while, it made Sawyer reevaluate and become real for once. Then that’s when you start to like him. When you see that realness. The honesty, the openness. And then, of course, Kace got knocked down a peg or two from being so judgemental. Lol. It was test of wills for sure.
It definitely made for an interesting read. And wait til you read Kace with Flynn lol. Those two. Some other characters pop up that I’m wanting to see more of. They need a good story.
