Micah Kennedy has lived with PTSD for years. He is an expert at hiding his struggles behind the quick wit and snark that is very much a part of his makeup. His need to keep a promise to a dying comrade feeds his nightmares and invades his dreams—until that promise brings him military K-9 Delta.
Hawk McKinnon has spent most of his life kicking trouble’s ass in every hotspot around the globe. Now his sniper hasn’t returned from a CIA sanctioned mission in Pakistan and all bets are off. When Hawk comes calling looking for help, Micah doesn’t hesitate and jumps at the chance to repay a debt. A mission that will set him on a path to the one thing he never knew he was looking for: love!
Creed Erikson cursed the betrayal that caused his capture and vowed vengeance on those responsible. He knew Hawk was coming for him—he never doubted it for a second—but Micah Kennedy and Delta? They threw him for a loop.
Can Micah embrace his destiny, believe in the strengths of the bond of the triad that the fates have created or will he refuse to believe that he too deserves a happily ever after?
Micah’s Promise is part of the Delta Force – Team Panther Series. While it can be read as a standalone… to ensure maximum enjoyment, it is best read in series order.
REVIEW:
Now, there a few things that I’m a huge sucker for in books…children, animals and threesomes if they are done right and this book…it has two of the three and Annabella did such an Amazing job that I was really sad when this book was over. I mean…how could it be over…how am I supposed to read something that isn’t about my guys? How am I gonna survive without a resolution to all of the crap that my guys have been going thru? What do you mean I have to wait until she finishes the next book? I can’t possibly wait that long…I’m in need….NEED I Tell Ya!!
Micah…yeah, we know this guy from the previous 3 books and yeah, he’s the guy who tries to lighten the mood when things are getting too heavy and yet, I didn’t realize the hurt that this guy was going thru. PTSD is so AWFUL and it affects so many people…especially our women and men in the military (and other jobs). Micah…golly…I just felt for this guys. To bear witness to these moments where he’s so vulnerable…yeah…I wanted to wrap him up in my arms and protect him. But, Micah is Strong and that came across the entire book. He didn’t let his PTSD be his define him.
Hawk…Big, Tough & Dangerous Hawk…he’s ALL of those things but he’s so much more. He’s Possessive and he’s willing to walk thru Hell to get to protect those who he loves and considers his. I like that even though Hawk is a Bad-Ass…he’s also tender and loving and will move Heaven & Earth for his Men.
Creed…The Viking…I have to say that he’s such a great guy as well. He’s a nurturer like Hawk but don’t think that he’s weak…He’s like Hawk…Tough and Dangerous…don’t underestimate this guy. I like that Creed is this really sweet guy and he has just this heart of gold and he’s really not afraid to show it to his men.
Now, this book was getting us closer to all of the people out to hurt out Team Panther. We find out so much and it’s getting closer to finishing the danger that our guys are under. We see way more action and it’s GOOD!! Three operators…yeah…you know that these guys have some serious skills and they aren’t afraid to use them!! And use them, they do!!! Our guys become a unit and that unit is Unstoppable!!
The relationship between these three men is wonderful to watch unfold. The way that they learn to trust each other and fall in love…it was tender and beautiful to watch. That they talked and communicated so well together. It was stupid and I never yelled for the guys to open their mouths and speak. They may have taken things slow…but they communicated well to each other and I really appreciated that.
Delta…now I love when authors use animals and Delta was a huge part of this story and I think that she deserved to be acknowledged. Not only is she a ex-military dog, but she was so instrumental to Micah and then to Hawk and Creed. She is a great secondary character who had her own personality and it was beautiful to see Hawk & Creed calling her “Our Girl”.
The sexy times in this book were smoking and I just wanted to say…”DAMN”!!!
I have to say that I’m looking forward to the book in the series as we have to get to the conclusion of what the hell is going on and we have to see what the hell is up with Fritz and Jason!!
