REVIEW:
I am always a bit leery when a story states it’s MMF Bisexual romance. I was pleasantly surprised at the turn of events in this book and how well the story played out.
JD Pierce is an escort, a prostitute, a whore, a lover-for-hire. What ever you want to call him doesn’t matter. He doesn’t mince words or thoughts of what he is and what he does. But he’s extremely careful with his clientele and his business. You can never be too careful when the service’s you are providing are considered a crime. When one of his high paying regular customers refers a young lady to him he’s a bit leery. It turns out the young woman needs his unique abilities to help her with her marriage. Alethia and Nick are a happy, loving couple that have been dealt a shattering blow to their marriage. An unfortunate and life altering accident has left Nick as a paraplegic with no sensations below the waist. It has been a difficult situation for them since they were both highly sensual and sexually active together. They have been to psychiatrists , counselors and therapists with nothing working. Alethia is worried that she is losing her beloved husband and will do anything to make their lives work. When her godmother Meredith suggests that she talk to a young man that she knows quite well JD agrees to come and try to meet with the couple. But how can a bisexual paid escort, a college professor and her straight husband make an unique triad work?
I will admit, when this book started out I was genuinely concerned that it might not be the right book for our review site. Although the first couple did eventually include the husband and there was some quick MM action I was hesitant when Alethia said her husband was straight. Nick and Alethia were main characters, according to the blurb, and MFM wasn’t going to work for me here. I was actually relieved and thrilled when this book took a sudden and much needed turn. However it doesn’t happen until over 50% into the book when Nick and Alethia finally admit to JD, who they now know is really Jasper, that Nick has “feelings” towards Jasper.
I think one of my most favorite little tidbits in one of the scenes was when JD is taken down a notch. He is blessed with being well endowed and is use to men and women being pleasantly surprised and eager for his endowment. I loved when he finally saw Nick naked and realized he wasn’t the most endowed in their triad. It actually made me chuckle that he was in awe and actually a bit jealous of how much more endowed Nick was than him.
This book is filled with a lot of sex and a good portion of it is MF or MFM so, if you aren’t into having women involved in the sex, this isn’t the book for you. However, if you don’t mind having women in the bedroom then I believe that you will be surprised on how this sexy romp (and yes there is a lot of sex…I mean what do you expect from a paid male escort?) turns into a tender and sweet love story. I loved how their relationship ship bloomed and grew. Nick and Alethia could have cared less about conventional relationships if bringing Jasper into theirs was the missing piece to a lifetime of love and happiness. I also appreciated that Alethia was Greek and bisexuality is considered common to her. Her ability to help her husband explore his sexuality was wonderful. All Alethia wanted was for Nick to be happy and not feel like he was letting her down.
One of the parts that ticked me off a bit was Adras, Alethia’s father. I know how protective a parent can be. No one wants to mess with this protective Mama so I get taking care of and trying to protect your only child. And I get that they are extremely wealthy and can be a mark however there is a difference between love and caring and crossing the line. Adras went outside of what is considered meddling and took it to a whole other level of manipulation!
Even though there was a tad bit more MF than I am usually comfortable with in my MMF triads this story actually worked for me. I am so thankful that I stuck with it when my concerns began to grow. This is a really well written and thoughtful story of how an unconventional and unique solution to a problem can not only save the original relationship but improve it. I hope that you enjoy this story of love and commitment as much as I did.
