Welcome Brigham 🙂
Jeremy groaned and stretched, the muscles of his leg pulling a little. He was looking forward to the hot shower, but he was too content, lying here with Evan in his arms. The bed was a mess, and they were both covered in lube and spunk, but if this wasn’t a little slice of heaven, Jeremy didn’t know what was.
He gripped Evan tighter and Evan buried his head against Jeremy’s neck. For several long moments, they lay there quietly as Jeremy stroked Evan’s back. He felt starved for touch. After the accident, he’d lost everyone he was close to, and he’d pulled away from the rest of the world. A few fleeting sexual encounters had done nothing but make Jeremy more lonely until he’d finally put up so many barriers no one even tried to get through.
Until Evan.
Now he wanted to lie in bed with Evan and never leave. “I could get used to this, you know?” he murmured.
“Mmmhmm. Me too.” Evan sounded drowsy and content. Jeremy turned his head to kiss Evan’s hair.
It occurred to Jeremy he could get used to it. He and Evan had nowhere to be until brunch tomorrow, and even if they missed it, Russ and Stephen probably wouldn’t care. They had to be back in Atlanta the day after, but even then, they could spend the night together if they wanted. This week, next week, two months from now … Evan would be there. Jeremy’s grin was so wide it bordered on absurd.
He felt a little dizzy, but for once, it wasn’t the fear of commitment. For the first time, he was with someone he didn’t want to let go of. He couldn’t get enough of the man in his arms. “I love you, you know?”
“Yeah? I love you too.” Evan sounded sleepy but matter-of-fact. He stretched, shifting in Jeremy’s arms. “I think I need to go shower,” he admitted, sitting up, and his eyes widened. “Whoa. You weren’t kidding when you said things got messy.”
Jeremy shot him a crooked grin. Evan’s hair stuck up on one side, and he looked sleepy and a little annoyed. But mostly, so sweet Jeremy would swear Evan would taste like sugar if he licked him. He was going to test the theory in the shower.
“Sure, let’s go shower.” Jeremy sat up with a groan and carefully swung his legs over the edge of the bed before he stood. All things considered, his leg had held up remarkably well, but Jeremy wasn’t about to tempt fate and put himself out of commission for a while. Not when he had a whole list of things he wanted to try with Evan. He’d even take a muscle relaxer before bed, just to be sure.
As Evan walked toward the bathroom—his round little ass clenched tight—Jeremy had to fight to keep from laughing. Jeremy followed him a little more slowly, wincing at the tug of dried come pulling at the hairs below his navel. He always managed to forget the little annoyances after sex. Of course, he’d put up with any number of them to be with Evan.
He felt dizzy and stupid over the guy, and he never wanted the feeling to stop.
Summary:
After a lifetime of being told he’s worthless, Evan Harris is forced out of the closet and the only home he’s ever known. Jobless and homeless, he makes a desperate call to a couple he barely knows. They give him a place to stay at their place in Atlanta while he gets back on his feet. But he’s too shy to explore the big city and go after what he wants: a relationship.
Physically and emotionally scarred from a devastating car accident, Jeremy Lewis struggles to reconcile the brash, outgoing man he used to be with the social recluse he’s become. He’s resigned himself to being alone, but an encounter with an ex-boyfriend shakes up his dull existence and brings Evan into his life.
Loneliness draws Evan and Jeremy to each other, but a strong mutual attraction isn’t enough. At thirty-six, Jeremy is convinced a relationship would be holding twenty-one-year-old Evan back.
Evan must be strong enough to fight for what he wants and Jeremy must let someone close enough to see his scars. Otherwise, they’ll miss out on the love of a lifetime.
