BLURB:
University student Demir Higgs is on the fast-track to graduate with honors and dive straight into medical school. His career plan leaves little time for dating, so after he catches his casual boyfriend cheating, Demir attends an anonymous sex party, determined to finally lose his virginity. He chooses an older alpha in a red mask and the man takes Demir apart piece by glorious piece, worshiping his body in ways Demir never imagined. Too bad he’ll never see the man again.
After his bondmate disappeared eleven years ago, Senior Constable Brandt Lars fell into his work and avoided dating, disinterested in relationships. Not until the boy in the blue mask. Introducing the young beta to the wonders of sex was Brandt’s absolute pleasure, and he can’t stop thinking about him—until Brandt comes face to face with Blue in the form of Demir Higgs, the middle son of a work colleague. Demir is equally drawn to Brandt and their chemistry is through the roof. The age difference is an issue, but their attraction is real, and stolen moments turn into a secret relationship they both enjoy…but something is still missing.
Years ago, Oliver Strand lost all his memories in a horrible car wreck that left his face scarred and his sense of smell obliterated. But he built a new life for himself and his son, and now he’s visiting Sansbury Province as a guest speaker at a territory-wide anti-sex-trafficking conference. What he does not expect to find at the conference is an alpha he doesn’t know, but who insists Oliver is his missing mate Ollie Lars, who disappeared the same week as Oliver’s accident.
Brandt is overjoyed to discover his bondmate is alive, despite Oliver having no memory of his old life in Sansbury, and he’s determined to keep both mate and son in his life. But he’s also in love with Demir and doesn’t want to lose him. Demir is ready to be the bigger person and step aside so the Lars family can be together again—until Demir realizes he and Oliver have unique chemistry of their own. And they’ve also both been claimed by the same alpha.
Can a grumpy alpha in love with two men, an omega with no memory of his mate, and a beta determined to chart his own course find a way to navigate the complicated waters of a poly relationship? Or will all three men end up stranded alone with broken hearts?
NOTE: This is a non-shifter, M/M/M Omegaverse story with alpha/omega/beta dynamics, heats, knotting, and mpreg. In this world, omegas are second-class citizens, but they are working toward gaining more civil rights and protections under the law. Additional warnings for extremely kinky sex, including dirty talk, light spanking, biting, edging, roughhousing, come-swapping, and threesomes. This series is best read in numerical order.
REVIEW:
Very rarely in the years I have read books, have I ever had one hit me with such intensity and suspense that I almost had to quit reading. Because it’s scary-ish. You know something is going to happen. It’s like being able to see a crash before it happens. And you know that someone is going to be hurt, if not everybody, and your poor heart don’t know if it can take it. Shew. In-tense. Of course, I couldn’t put it down. No way in hell. I freaking love this series. And it gets more intense and better with every book.
I don’t know which of these three I wanted to hug more. Demir, Brandt or Ollie. All have had traumatic things happen to them but no worse than Ollie, I think. Brandt and Ollie have been in love for years. Since children. And when they finally mated, everything fell into place. The only hard part was not being able to have children. Ollie was beginning to feel like less of an omega, afraid he would disappoint Brandt. But Brandt didn’t care as long as he had Ollie. Finding out they were pregnant after six long years of trying, it was bliss. But that bliss was short lived. A few weeks later, Ollie disappeared. For ten long years, Brandt grieved until at a party he met a beautiful young man in a blue mask who finally made him feel alive.
Demir had his heart broke and went in search for a booty call. He was twenty and tired of being a virgin. When at a party, he met a big strong gorgeous alpha in a red mask that rocked his entire world. He’d never be able to have sex without comparing. He wish he knew who he was. At a gala, he got his wish. The chemistry sparked and exploded and they decided to see each other. Within a few months they were in love, but private about it. When at a conference, 10 years later, the shock of the century came about. Ollie was alive. But didn’t remember anything.
Right here, I wanted to stop. That train wreck? Oh man! But I couldn’t. It’s like watching a scary movie through your fingers. Lol. Brandt wants Ollie back because that’s his bondmate. But Ollie remembers nothing. Yet his instincts are telling him this is true. And Demir. Who fell in love with Brandt. Brandt fell in love with Demir too. But now what? Ahhhh. Biting the nails here.
I love each of these guys though. Demir had a lot to prove to everyone it seemed. Seemed everyone kept forgetting he is a man now. And being new to the dating world made it hard for anyone to believe he knew his heart and what he wanted. He has such a big heart. He has so many qualities that make him incredible. He’s strong, yet stubborn, bit a heart full of gold. He is loyal and loving and committed to making the world a better place. Even if he’s ‘just a beta’.
Brandt is a wonderful alpha. He’s got all those alpha traits but he’s more. A lot of alphas are assholes, but Brandt is caring and considerate. He’s thoughtful and loving and genders don’t matter to him. Unless it’s to protect his mates. He doesn’t mind being on ‘bottom’ or orally taking care of his men. Being grief stricken changed him for a while. Understandable. But Demir brought him back to life.
The worst was Ollie, though. Finally getting his hopes and dreams along with his bondmate, he’s taken and then was in an accident that almost killed him and caused him to forget everything. He’s such a beautiful soul. But terrified at finding out where his life really was. He knew something was missing from his life but this was beyond what he thought.
Life was changing for all three. None knew where they fit anymore. All were terrified. But they all knew they had to try. And I, of course, cried. Of course, relationships are not easy. And with all their battles, theirs was a definite change. But to them…worth it.
This book was amazing. As in every one in this series, the characters, despite their pasts and troubles, are breathtaking. They are real. They love with their all their souls and they never give up. No matter how hard. I’m in love with every book and can’t recommend them enough. No matter how much nail biting or how many tissues.
