Storms pass and, in their wake, new beginnings can be found.
Talented young artist Jonty Trelawn paints the sea as self-inflicted punishment. For almost a year he has hidden away from life, survivor’s guilt consuming him, but the time has come to move on. He conceives the idea of a charity art auction in support of the local lifeboat station and the men and women who saved his life. He hopes the tribute to his family will release him from the sea’s invisible chains.
Carpenter Jed Curnow is bound to the water in a different way. As deputy coxswain of the Govenek, the local lifeboat, his world revolves around the close-knit crew. He thinks nothing of risking his life to save others. Saving Jonty is less dangerous but just as important to him. He wants nothing more than to give Jonty the love and security he needs.
Jed’s dominant personality calls to Jonty’s more submissive nature but will he ever allow himself to be happy? It’s up to Jed and his best friend Marmite to help Jonty put his tragic past behind him and live for the future.
REVIEW:
Jonty is the sweetest of young men and we meet him at the worst time of his life.
Jed meets him then too and can’t seem for forget him but knows that Jonty needs time to reconcile what happened to him with how he’s going to live the rest of his life.
This story is adorable and fluffy and it’s interspersed with lovely, filthy sex and that makes it all the more interesting.
Watching Jonty as he works his way back to life by becoming involved with a charity project and Jed. He’s only been living half a life and he knows that it needs to change.
Jed is a man who works hard and is used to getting his own way. He also understands Jonty’s artistic soul because he has his own creative outlet.
This is a story about two men who are figuring out how to find their way with each other. The village they live in is wonderful and I can almost picture it in my head. The people who live there are supportive and kind, and that goes a long way to helping Jonty come out of his shell.
Marmite is my favorite character. He’s Jed’s dog and it’s to his credit as much as anyone else’s that Jonty starts to regain his spirit.
This is a lovely story that’s well written and very hard to put down. It’s not the kind of story that races to the end, but just sorts of sweeps you along gently, making you root for Jonty and Jed the whole way.
As I mentioned the sex is just hot enough to warm you up and the BDSM aspects are interesting without overwhelming the whole story.
