Carter can’t get the image of one particular man out of his mind; the man who found him in his darkest moment. The one who risked everything to save him and the same person who most likely never wants to speak to him again.
Ryan Marshall had led a pretty solitary existence ever since his grandfather had passed away. He spent most of his free time renovating the property he had inherited while avoiding the dating scene. Lately, he found himself longing for someone special; a man he could share his life with.
One fateful night, an emergency call placed Carter in Ryan’s life and the two felt an immediate connection. Unable to stop thinking about him, Ryan decided to reach out, but was disappointed when Carter was not at all what he expected.
Ryan is determined to move on and forget all about the beautiful man he rescued, but he soon realizes that sometimes fate has other plans.

REVIEW:
Oh my goodness gracious I thought I couldn’t love any other the other Greene brothers as much as I loved Caleb but I admit…I was sooooo wrong!
Carter Greene is a musical genius. From the time he was a toddler that boy had to be creating music. Now, at twenty three he was making his mark on the Chicago music scene. The one thing that had stood in his way was his injuries from the fire at his identical twin brother and his husband’s restaurant that he had worked at. Now that he was better he had to make something right. The way he lashed out at what he thought was a groupie, when he was told the extent of his injuries, turned out to be the man that actually saved his life. He had to apologize and make this right but he just kept stalling. That was until a turn of luck, at “Agape House, a center for local LGBTQ teens” that he and his family volunteered at, forced him to confront the man that saved his life. Ryan Marshall is the firefighter that saved Carter when Caleb begged him to go find his twin that was hurt and in grave danger. Caleb had felt Carter’s pain and knew that there was little time left. When Ryan went to go visit the man that had took his breathe away at the hospital he was treated horribly by him but Carter Greene had never been far from his mind. When Carter showed up to fill in for the photographer to do the fundraiser calendar to support Agape House the men finally had closure on what exactly transpired immediately before that moment in the hospital. But closure wasn’t enough with the chemistry that was burning within them from a different kind of fire.
Carter had always been the prankster and playboy of the twins but when he saw (and felt) what Caleb had with Gio he knew that those days were dwindling. He wanted what Caleb had gotten…true love with his soul mate. It took no time at all to figure out that Ryan was that man, his happily ever after. I loved that he treaded lightly with Ryan. It was obvious that Ryan was feeling it with Carter too but he was so inexperienced with emotions of the heart. But what I loved best was the strong, protective side that the other produced in them…that and drawing their kinkier sides to the forefront. They were perfectly suited for each other and their needs. The fact that the were both versatile made for some pretty hot and steamy scenes.
Two of the people that I am loving the more that I read into this series are the Greene parents, Rick and Kathy. After thirty-two years of marriage they still knew how to keep their sex lives fresh and alive, and much to their children’s horror, shared openly about it! But I think that is why all their kids are so healthy sexually and relationship wise. They have had the perfect example of what they wanted in their own lives, love, openness and fierce protectiveness of what is theirs. I also think that each of the Greene’s children’s significant others see that too. They see that family and love is the most important thing in one’s life.
The whole situation with his fellow firefighter Dan made my blood boil. I was happy to see Ryan’s Captain step up but that bullying was allowed to go on way too long within their firehouse. The minimum that should have happened was that Dan was switched to a different shift or to a different firehouses. There are laws that should have protected Ryan from Dan’s constant homophobic slurs, especially at his workplace.
I can’t get enough of this series. Although it is said that any of these books could be read as standalone I highly recommend that you read these in order. This particular book ended on a wee bit of a soft cliffhanger. I can’t wait for Landon and Micah’s story. This is bound to be explosive!
