Seduced by his voice…
Devastated by a cheating scandal that ended his marriage and nearly ruined his online dating service, PillowTalk.com, Logan Reid is a man on the verge of ending it all. A phone call out of the blue from the program manager of PRIDE XM Radio pulls Logan back from the brink. A job offer to host a late night call-in show for the lovelorn called Pillow Talk is a last shot for Logan, who is struggling to find a way to start over.
Bostonian Greyson Montgomery is dealing with a personal scandal of his own. Homeless and jobless after a disastrous relationship, he’s forced to move back in with his parents and rebuild his shattered life. Alone and miserable, he tunes in to the debut of Pillow Talk and decides to call the dulcet-toned host with his own tale of heartbreak.
Ratings at PRIDE XM soar after Greyson’s call to Logan, triggering the program manager to invite Grey to co-host Pillow Talk for a few weeks. This doesn’t sit well with Logan, who thinks Grey is trying to steal his job.
Are these two broken hearted men too damaged to trust again, or will they take the opportunity to share some Pillow Talk of their own?
REVIEW:
I have to say, this was a good book. And getting to know these guys, I’m anxious to see how the next two books turn out. Such a story of loss, well stories, of loss, grief, devastation, to the point of almost attempting suicide. But it’s also of Hope and second chances. Of rebuilding trust and truly letting go.
The only major problem I had was there were quite a few grammatical things that needed to be fixed and chapters were all highlighted and some weren’t. It threw me off some. But anyway.
If you’ve ever been in a shitty relationship at all, and most of us have, you know we can relate to these guys to a point. And it’s devastating. Logan, who did everything he could for his husband, found out he wasn’t enough when his husband was caught cheating. Many, many times. He was just after Logan’s money and fame. What a dick right? Then you have Grey. Whose asshole boyfriend thought he could control every aspect of Grey’s life. He cost Grey his friends, his job, his independence. Most importantly, he lost himself. As did Logan. These two were so wrapped up in their significant others, they missed the signs until everything fell apart. And both on the verge of ending it all completely.
It’s so sad the way people are in this world. Greedy, selfish assholes who only care about themselves. But give just enough to fool the other person in to thinking they love them. Then it’s too late.
But I love that these two got a second chance. With a talk show and in a station, with people with similar problems. The bonds with these guys formed and new friendships made. And life finally seemed to be a little better. But we all know life has that way of just digging in deep. Old insecurities, past pressures. For Logan, the media. And also having to share his story over and over on the air. Wasn’t easy for Grey either.
What I love about Grey though, is he is more optimistic. He really tries to do the right thing and teach others to do the right thing. Even when every instinct says don’t. He’s a great guy. He’s strong every in the face of despair and heartache, he keeps going. Logan……shew. Logan is a bit strong willed. He’s angry and plans to stay angry. It’s not that he’s a bad person. He’s really not. I mean, we all have asshole moments. But his anger makes situations harder than they need to be. And he will never trust. But letting go is hard. He never really got complete closure. Until one fateful night. These guys had their pasts slammed into them. Both at critical times in their new lives. And either time didn’t go to well. But when dealing with so much emotion….kinda hard to.
I love also that these men are not afraid to cry. They try not to show it sometimes, but they overall let it rip. And that to me is just Beautiful. Shows maybe they aren’t quite afraid of emotion after all.
This was a really good book. Like I said, I’m ready to see how the other guys make out. Logan and Grey were the main focus in this book, but it’s the other characters that helped make it be what it is. And I want to see their stories. Bunch of great guys written. Give it whirl. It’s good
