Eventually, he meets Ceri, who invites Leon to live with him above a shop owned by a woman who lost her husband and son to a werewolf attack. REVIEW:
I read and thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series and was happy to see a follow up. I want to warn you though that it isn’t a direct follow-up to the first book. In a way, that is a good thing, because it can definitely be read as a standalone. The story is totally separate, and we don’t learn until later in the book how the two stories tie together.
The main character in this story is Leon. Leon has always been different. He has never been sure about his gender preference and goes by both Leon and Leona. A horrific event happens to him when a werewolf invades his drag club and bites off his arm in the middle of a drag show. Leon is transformed to a wolf and does horrible things to his friends and family. And I mean horrible. Like killing the girl that he thought of as his own child.
Leon runs into a man named Ceri at a police station and the two form an alliance to find and destroy the werewolf that bit Leon, and as it turns out several other people. The story proceeds and we learn more about the characters and how the werewolf ties in to the victims.
I enjoyed the read. I liked how we learned how this story tied to the first book, and now I need to go back and re-read that one to answer a couple questions I still have.
I recommend this book to anyone looking for something different. Pick the first one up first and read them both so you have some background on Ceri. The story might not appeal to those who like their stories light and fluffy with a HEA. I would consider this one a HFN at this point. The writing style kept me turning the pages… even with this GRL Con Crud that I brought home with me!
