Love Bytes is welcoming to their blog author Leta Blake, writing under their pen-name Blake Moreno, talking to us about their new release Heat For Sale.
Welcome Blake!
Thank you so much for hosting me today! I appreciate this opportunity to talk a little about my upcoming book, written under my pen name Blake Moreno, Heat for Sale.
First off, for those who don’t know—Leta Blake is Blake Moreno. I chose that pen name for The Difference Between, a release I put out in 2017, because I didn’t feel that the story fit the brand I was building as Leta Blake. The Difference Between was a bit darker than I wanted to go with my Leta Blake brand, though, all in all, I think it is one of the most romantic stories I’ve ever written, and I’m very proud of it. (You can find The Difference Between on Amazon here)
I’m glad to have the Blake Moreno pen name now, because I’ve written a new omegaverse, mpreg novel, complete with knotting, heats, etc, but it is not set in the same universe as my well-known Heat of Love series (Slow Heat, Alpha Heat) which I published as Leta Blake. I thought it might be confusing for readers if I tried to release a different omegaverse, mpreg novel set in a new universe as Leta Blake, and hoped that by using my other pen name there would be enough of a disconnect that there would be no confusion.
Now, on to discussion of Heat for Sale! It’s a 60,000 word novel set in a world where unmarried omegas sell their heats to the highest bidder for a profit. It’s a bit of a dark story, inspired in parts by Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier and Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, as well as by the Tori Amos song “Jamaica Inn”, which was inspired by du Maurier’s books Rebecca and Jamaica Inn. So it has some dark secrets embedded into the story, some withholding of information, and some fantastical settings. It explores concepts of trust, and how we label those who don’t follow the expectations of gender, and it was a great deal of fun to write.
Thank you again for having me here and I hope that your blog readers enjoy finding out more about Heat for Sale and Blake Moreno.

Heat can be sold but love is earned.
In a world where omegas sell their heats for profit, Adrien is a university student in need of funding. With no family to fall back on, he reluctantly allows the university’s matcher to offer his virgin heat for auction online. Anxious, but aware this is the reality of life for all omegas, Adrien hopes whoever wins his heat will be kind.
Heath—a wealthy, older alpha—is rocked by the young man’s resemblance to his dead lover, Nathan. When Heath discovers Adrien is Nathan’s lost son from his first heat years before they met, he becomes obsessed with the idea of reclaiming a piece of Nathan.
Heath buys Adrien’s heat with only one motivation: to impregnate Adrien, claim the child, and move on. But their undeniable passion shocks him. Adrien doesn’t know what to make of the handsome, mysterious stranger he’s pledged his body to, but he’s soon swept away in the heat of the moment and surrenders to Heath entirely.
Once Adrien is pregnant, Heath secrets him away to his immense and secluded home. As the birth draws near, Heath grows to love Adrien for the man he is, not just for his connection to Nathan. Unaware of Heath’s past with his omega parent and coming to depend on him heart and soul, Adrien begins to fall as well.
But as their love blossoms, Nathan’s shadow looms. Can Heath keep his new love and the child they’ve made together once Adrien discovers his secrets?
Heat for Sale is a stand-alone m/m erotic romance by Leta Blake, writing as Blake Moreno. Infused with a du Maurier Rebecca-style secret, it features a well-realized omegaverse, an age-gap, dominance and submission, heats, knotting, and scorching hot scenes.
