I CHALLENGE YOU
I was making every excuse in the book as to why I couldn’t concentrate long enough to sit down and write the guest blog posts I had committed to. I’ve been working extra hours, doctor appointments, and yard work, flooded basement the list went on and on. To be quite honest I’d been feeling sorry for myself and it only got worse when the transmission went out on my truck. I was spitting and sputtering. Stomping around just pissed off at the karma train that seemed to be running away with my life.
However, the rain finally let up, the ground slightly drier today and I got a few minutes before work to mow my front lawn. I don’t know if it was the sunshine or the pity party finally broke up or what but I started thinking about the folks effected by hurricane Michael.
I thought about those who no longer had a home while I have a roof over my head. I’d seen pictures of people standing in line for whatever food they could get from the one local mart still standing and I have a freezer full of meals. While my truck is out of service and I had to get another vehicle, my roads are drivable. While animals wander around lost or in sweltering cages, my pup has a freshly mowed yard to run around in and a warm bed to snuggle in. I have no right to complain as I am truly blessed.
So, I challenge you to look at your life, think about what you have and compare it to those who are struggling to find some normalcy in the devastation of Michael. Take that extra moment to take a new or gently used coat to the homeless shelter, while at the grocery store, grab an extra bag of dog food or treats and drop it off at the local shelter. Oh, and don’t forget that extra can of beans to pop in the local food collection box.
I won’t be belly aching anymore and plan on doing all the above, plus donating a portion of the proceeds of Calculated Magic, to the disaster relief for those effected by the hurricane. Today I’m going to smile for what I have, what I am able to give to others and I challenge you to do the same.
~Hugs~

Never too late for love.
Three-hundred-and-fifty-year-old warlock Tikron must find his true love or forfeit his immortality. But if he hasn’t found his ideal mate in all these centuries, the prospects don’t look too bright.
That is, until he sees mathematician Richard Beaumont. It’s love at first sight and Tikron’s future just go a whole lot brighter.
Except Richard doesn’t believe in love at first sight. He doesn’t believe in love at all. He certainly doesn’t believe in magic. His life is ruled by statistics and logic, and they tell him a relationship with Tikron has only a 10 percent chance of success. That’s unacceptable—even if the attraction between them is off the charts.
With his powers waning and the clock ticking down, Tikron’s last hope is showing Richard the true meaning of magic.
