At Three Bears surf break, the attraction between a group of friends is anything but “Luke warm….”
Dan goes to stay with his best friend Josh in Margaret River, the surfing capital of Western Australia, to sort out his sexual confusion. But his best friend is the source of that confusion. Having never been attracted to a man other than Josh, Dan fears risking their friendship just to discover men aren’t his thing.
Within the first few days, Dan meets Luke, a local barista who offers him surf lessons. Dan soon finds himself emotionally coveting not one, but two men. When they go to Three Bears, his hidden desires begin to emerge. As the ambiguity of Dan’s mixed signals clears, it becomes apparent both of his surfing companions want him—badly.
It is only when Luke and Josh hook up that they formulate “Operation Three Bears,” an adventurous plan that might lead to a satisfying outcome for all of them.
REVIEW:
Nothing like a threesome of gorgeous men playing at the beach!
Dan is visiting his best friend Josh for an extended stay while he tries to finally figure out his head and his heart. He had recently broke it off with is girlfriend “who rightly accused me of being emotionally unavailable” as he secretly realized that he might have “feelings and desires” for Josh. While trying to deal with and understand his feelings, he meets Luke, the barista and surf instructor, at the local coffee shop. When Dan starts having uncontrollable feeling for both men he is even more confused. Then Josh and Luke hook-up and he is even more confused because he realizes that he is jealous. When Josh and Luke hatch a plan to make Dan finally come out of his head it can go well or sideways in a big hurry. But can Dan finally get out of his head and open his eyes and heart to what is standing right before him?
I think I liked Luke and Josh more from the start. Dan was all angsty and his inner battles to try and figure out what he wanted and needed was driving me a bit crazy. On stories that are this short I find myself becoming a bit frustrated with the constant inner battles and just want the author to get the men together so they can find if there is a relationship to be had and give enough time so that I get my HEA. At least, with this story, the author did give me a nice little epilogue so I could know more if it was going to all work out.
The plus side to this story is it is set on Western Australian coastline, there are three hot men that desire each other and there is surfing. Although I could definitely done with less head space with Dan, I found myself hoping that the scenarios that Luke and Josh were trying to put into play would work out. I wanted this to be a working triad. I would have rated it higher if we would have got to the relationship part faster and seen how it was developing.
