BLURB:
Greyson Fox, the man, the myth, the legend. The highly sought after, self-proclaimed permanent bachelor. Or so the rumor mill goes. Sure, I’ve heard it all – but the one that stung the most was being called a heartless bastard. Love ‘em and leave ‘em, that one in particular I found to be the most humorous since only one man had ever shared my bed more than once, and he’d long since passed away.
I wasn’t the heartless bastard they all proclaimed me to be, but life had a way of kicking me in the teeth…Repeatedly, so I shut my heart off.
For years I thrived, building my empire and living by my own rules. Until one day, the walls came crashing down around me.
Potential trigger warning:
This book contains brief descriptions of human sex trafficking, as well as two mentions of sexual abuse, including a brief description of oral abuse and an attempted sexual assault. There is some physical abuse by the syndicates hands and a drug overdose so if those are trigger points this may not be the book for you.
REVIEW:
I am really growing quite fond of this author. Her writing style and characters draw me in to want more.
Greyson Fox may be very handsome and financially independently rich but life has been very cruel. He lost his parents at a young age. Fortunately for him he met a wonderful and caring man when he was a twenty year old virgin who had no clue about his own sexuality. His life seemed complete and on course for a lifetime of happiness when fate cursed him once again. Now he is just a “one and off” kind of man with no room left in his heart or head for opening himself up to more tragedy and hurt. That is until he is in San Francisco working on opening his newest Into The Grey bar and exclusive club. He needs to blow off steam after battling with the city to get everything okayed to build his club. He meets a copper headed dancer that blows him away. After a very passionate of mind-blowing sex he heads back to Seattle. He left a note thanking the beautiful man, telling him the room is paid, order breakfast and charge it to the room and left a $100 bill for his taxi home. The man, whom Greyson never got his name or number, haunts his memory for the next two years. No one has ever lit him up like the sassy and fiery twink. When Jamie, Greyson’s second in command and closest friend, makes him come down to meet the newest dancer recruits for the front bar he is totally caught off guard when the man he has compared everyone else to for the last two years enters the room. Samuel’s ire immediately goes up when he sees that the man he had had the best night of passion and then left a $100 bill for his “services” is standing before him. The bastard is now his freaking boss! How can these two men ever be convinced that they belong together and Greyson needs to take a chance at love again?
My heart hurt for all that Greyson had to endure. First his dad killed when he was five by a stray bullet while wait waiting for a bus. Then his beloved mother is ripped from him at nineteen by pancreatic cancer 2 ½ weeks after she felt ill. He has to try to make ends meet for a year after she died before Daniel entered his life. I fell hard for Daniel. He was loving, kind, gentle, caring, nurturing and the perfect person to guide Grey on from all the tragedy in his young life. He opened up opportunities that he never would have even dreamed of. And he showed him what real love was. Both men had lost everyone in their lives so they fit well together. I was devastated when that all came crashing down. I was spitting mad at the author but, as I continued on in the book, I realized why all this addition heartache was necessary. Daniel was who Greyson needed to grow up and reach his potential. He was the nurturing and loving person he needed to move on with his life and discover his sexuality. However, Daniel wasn’t meant for him to take his next step to reach full maturity and self independence. He allowed him to grow and learn but I don’t think that Greyson would have ever truly deep in his heart believe that Daniel loved him as much as he had Marcus. I believe he did however Greyson wasn’t at that level of his maturity yet to full comprehend that you can love fully and completely different people. That is where Samuel was so important. It allowed Greyson to not only come full circle in his sexuality but in his maturity and love also. Daniel was his lover but he was his mentor also. Samuel was his partner for life. They were equals. I don’t know if or how that would have played out with Daniel.
I loved how all of Greyson’s friends rallied around him when he was in need. He was that loved of a friend. The level that Jamie and Butch rose to was more than employees and friends. Jamie became his best friend, something he had never had before, and looked out for him right from the start. I loved that Jamie called him on his BS when he needed it.
I realize that this is probably a standalone novel and it does everything it needs to do to make it a complete story. My problem is that I became really attached to the characters in this book. I would have loved to have had Jamie and Butch’s full story. I would love to hear what happens to Samuel’s roommates, especially Andy. And I would really like to see Kegan’s story. I know there would probably be a lot of danger in that story too but I bet it would be smoking hot.
I really, truly loved this story. I touched my and made me care for all these people. I don’t usually like ones that have a bittersweet element in them and this one definitely did. However, I feel that the author did a wonderful job of showing why it was necessary. This book is the full-meal deal. It has true love, it has lots of loss, it has angst, it has danger (actually there are some parts that are pretty traumatic and had me on the edge of my seat, flipping the pages as quickly as I could read) and it has my much need HEA. I highly recommend that you give this book a chance and hope you fall for it as much as I did! I know these men won’t be leaving my heart any time soon.

Thank you so much for this wonderful review. You’ll be happy to know that I will be writing Jamie and Butch’s story, it’s called “Forgive Me Father” along with more spinoffs on couples mentioned in Greyson Fox due to the overwhelming feedback I’ve received <3
