Can two Doms open their hearts again for a young man desperately in need of their help?
Two years ago, Aaron Greene and Sam Thompson were devastated when their submissive broke the contract that bound the three of them together. They still wonder what happened and whether they can find a way to move forward. When Aaron finds a sick young man by the curbside, his protective instincts kick in, and after consulting Sam, he takes Tim home.
After being thrown out of his home, Tim Waterman finds himself on the street, doing whatever he needs to survive. Until a bear of a Good Samaritan scoops him up and saves him. Then one bear becomes two, and a chance discovery gets him thinking about what might be, if he’s bold enough to make a move.
So what happens when Aaron and Sam wake up one morning to find Tim naked in their bed? Will they get a new chance at life, or will history Threepeat itself?
REVIEW:
I was so sad when Collars & Cuffs was ending, and when they started Secrets, I was so excited. And for me, the series has only gotten better and better. The characters leave such a special place in your heart. All I need now is a story for Maggie and Max lol. This series just gets better with those two instigating stuff. This story was just so good. I don’t know who broke my heart the most. Well, yeah I do.
For Sam and Aaron, life seemed to just be at a standstill. They love each other so much, but both are Doms. And without a Sub, they don’t know how to move on. When the one they had left, it broke them in ways they never thought possible. They tried once, on a drunken night, to be together but it seemed to scare them both and they never did it again. All they did was fight, or take things out on each other it seemed. It’s so hard. When you lose someone in such a committed relationship, it’s like death. Especially when the break-up comes out of nowhere. Sam and Aaron had no closure. No way to figure out what went wrong. Nothing. And like any normal person, it was like death stepped in. I was so heartbroken for them. They cried, they raged, they grieved. They couldn’t move on. Not fully. Just the thought of trying to move on made them fight. And that’s hard too. As a friend watching your friends grieve….you want to help but can’t. And it seems like everything you say is always wrong. These two. Shew.
Then you have Tim. His whole life seemed to just be over. Everyone hated him for being gay. It’s how he felt. He couldn’t catch a break. No one wanted him. They just used him. He learned to roll with it even when it hurt. But he was at his last straw. He was starving. Literally. And death was coming for him. He had gotten sick and never completely healed. And with this cold, rainy weather, he couldn’t hang on anymore. And did I CRY. It never fails to break me the way some people can be. Especially parents. When you throw away someone you’re supposed to love for being different. And what happened to being ‘the good Samaritan’. No one cares anymore. Well mostly. Aaron came out of nowhere in the nick of time.
The road for these three isn’t easy. One doesn’t trust at all. One is skeptical. And the other is now thinking with his heart and not his head. (You can read to find out who’s who.) I loved it though. Each had their own journey to travel, even though they were doing it together. Each had a different lesson to learn. And it was a rollercoaster to watch. I laughed, cried and everything with them.
I love Tim. I love them all but Tim is just amazing. He was so innocent even with all he has been through, his ‘aura’ is just innocent. But don’t let him fool you. He’s a booger too. Once he finally started to feel comfortable and like he belonged, you truly get to see him relax and blossom. He’s snarky and smartassy. He’s funny and kind. Loyal without a fault. Even when he feels there’s no hope. I loved watching him face off with these two ‘big bad Doms’. He knew he would be ‘punished’, but he did it anyway. And he had a ball. He had so much fun.
I loved, too, that Sam and Aaron finally learned that life does move on. They still had a long way to go but they were starting to feel again. And it was scary as hell. And, Tim, being the little stinker he is, saw things they were too afraid to be open about. And boy, was it a surprise!
Of course, no book in this series is complete without the spectacular Maggie and her co-instigator Max. Max was different in this book and I hope he gets his story soon. And Maggie. Dear heaven. I laughed so hard I cried at the stunts she’s constantly up to. She’s just the greatest lol.
I love this book. I love this series. It’s been so great to see everyone growing up and moving on with their lives and great to see the new ones added to the mix. It makes for one hell of a family and friends. I can’t wait to see where this goes next. And if you authors need a hint, *wink wink* Max and Maggie!!!
