BLURB:
Twisted Wishes lead guitarist Dominic “Domino” Bradley is an animal onstage. But behind his tight leather pants and skull-crusher boots lies a different man entirely, one who needs his stage persona not only to perform, but to have the anonymity he craves. A self-imposed exile makes it impossible to get close to anyone outside the band, so he’s forced to get his sexual fix through a few hot nights with a stranger.
When computer programmer Adrian Doran meets Dominic, he’s drawn to the other man’s quiet voice and shy smile. But after a few dirty, demanding nights exploring Dominic’s need to be dominated, Adrian wants more than a casual distraction. He has no idea he’s fallen for Domino Grinder—the outlandish, larger-than-life rock god.
Dominic is reluctant to trust Adrian with his true identity. But when the truth is revealed prematurely, Dominic is forced to reevaluate both his need for Adrian and everything he believes about himself.
REVIEW:
I couldn’t wait for this sequel to Syncopation to come out. I fell in love with all the members of Twisted Wishes and eagerly anticipated Dom’s story.
Domino Grinder is the wickedly talented guitarist for the very successful rock band Twisted Wishes. But that is just the on-stage persona that he created to help him overcome his severe anxiety of preforming on stage. As “Domino” Dominic Bradley can shed his shy, nerdish self. The one who love quiet places and books. When a dashing gentleman sits next to him in a restaurant near his new home and asks about the gay erotica he was reading they hit it off immediately. Adrian Doran is usually a one-nighter kind of guy but he is intrigued by the shy nerd setting next to him at the restaurant he frequents. He decides, after a bit of “play”, that one night will never be enough. Adrian doesn’t push Dominic for answers to his questions about his life outside of them. But can a successful bank computer programmer and a Rock God with anxiety make a go of it outside the bedroom? Even if their kinks” align so fabulously?
Rope play is a special type of dominance and control that is fascinating to read. The ability to just let go and experience the total loss of control is very intriguing . You would think that it would be the opposite for someone who has extreme anxiety but I have read it is very therapeutic for the one who is bound. The loss of all control and surrendering to their Dominant can allow the person to just be and can provide a level of freeness that they seem to just float in. I find reading about this level of freedom and euphoria very captivating.
What also fascinated me with these particular two men was that Dominic was a natural submissive and Adrian thrived on his dominance but there was no pain play, just control play. However it was very interesting that they were both versatile and enjoyed that part of role reversal.
This is a series about a successful Rock Band but there were only references to actual past performances and just talked about their rehearsals. Not much of the Rock Star glamour and lifestyle, except it’s downside, were shown much. In fact this was pretty much the exact opposite…how to escape the trappings of the famous lifestyle that fame affords.
I fear this is the last of this series and I will be disappointed if that is true. I enjoyed the authors writing style and the flow of the books so far. I even enjoyed that this particular book followed their lives outside the limelight and how protective Dom was of his personal life outside the rock world.
I highly recommend this book and the series. I am hoping for more but am okay and satisfied if this is all there is.
