Welcome John 🙂
I really appreciate Love Bytes Reviews giving me a chance to talk about my new release, NIGHTFALL. You don’t have to be a science fiction fan to enjoy it, because like all Dreamspinner books, in the long run, it’s the romance that counts most. It’s just that this time, our two characters not only have to contend with falling in love, but they also have to face up to what might very well be the end of the world while they do it. How’s that for a bummer?
My two main characters in NIGHTFALL, Joe Chase and Ned Bowden, have a lot of baggage going into the story. As described in the blurb, they really are damaged men. Which to me, makes their love story even more fun to write and read. Sexier, more touching, the whole nine yards. NIGHTFALL is also sort of an underdog adventure story. Two simple guys coming face to face with love for the very first time, then turning right around and coming face to face with global catastrophe at the same point in their lives.
Another aspect of the story that really appealed to me was writing about darkness. Absolute, total darkness. A darkness that cloaks an entire planet. And what that sort of darkness does to the people living through it. Not just Joe and Ned, but everybody. Animal instincts kick in, of course. That’s just the way the human species operates. Throw them for a loop, and nine times out of ten they’ll start lashing out. At least the bad guys do. And heaven knows there are enough bad guys around to make it rough for everyone during a time of crisis, as Ned and Joe most certainly find out in a hurry.
Still, in NIGHTFALL I try to find the goodness in people too. Especially the goodness and the bravery in Joe and Ned. I hope my readers will enjoy spending time with them as much as I did. And I hope they’ll come away from the story with a little more appreciation for this wonderful planet we call home.
But most of all, I hope you’ll just sit back and enjoy the story of a world on the brink of collapse, and the two simple men who manage to fall in love in the middle of it.
Many thanks to Love Bytes Reviews for letting me share my new book with you. I hope you’ll enjoy it. Happy reading, everybody! And thank you all so much!

BLURB:
Joe Chase and Ned Bowden are damaged men. They each bear scars from surviving the world they were born in. Deep scars, both physical and emotional.
When fate offers its first kind act by bringing the two together, suddenly their scars don’t seem so bad, and their lives don’t feel so empty.
Yet that kindness comes at a price.
Just as Joe and Ned begin to experience true happiness for the very first time, the world turns on them again.
But this time it turns on everyone.

John Inman is a Lambda Literary Award finalist and the author of over thirty novels, everything from outrageous comedies to tales of ghosts and monsters and heart stopping romances. John Inman has been writing fiction since he was old enough to hold a pencil. He and his partner live in beautiful San Diego, California. Together, they share a passion for theater, books, hiking and biking along the trails and canyons of San Diego or, if the mood strikes, simply kicking back with a beer and a movie.
John’s advice for anyone who wishes to be a writer? “Set time aside to write every day and do it. Don’t be afraid to share what you’ve written. Feedback is important. When a rejection slip comes in, just tear it up and try again. Keep mailing stuff out. Keep writing and rewriting and then rewrite one more time. Every minute of the struggle is worth it in the end, so don’t give up. Ever. Remember that publishers are a lot like lovers. Sometimes you have to look a long time to find the one that’s right for you.”

The cover is incredible. I would love to read this one.
Looks fantastic! i’ve placed it on my wish list.
Congrats and thanks for the post. Great cover, and I love a story that is not just about the romance, especially if it’s SF. And love the reality that damaged characters bring.
