BLURB:
Jorget wants desperately to hone his magical abilities, but it’s almost impossible in Archai Castle, where the mad king would kill him if he caught him using his forbidden talents. But a chance presents itself when Jorget’s mentor, the royal priest Denekk, sends him on a quest in search of a magical weapon. While it seems his opportunity to make a name for himself has finally arrived, Jorget has no idea what he’s really getting himself into.
In the Mages’ Guild of the Dragon’s Claw, Kelwin Tiovolk and his beloved, guild leader Tasis Kadara, are finally enjoying a peaceful life. Unfortunately, it can’t last—the king has designs on a weapon that can destroy the guild, and in order to protect his home, Kelwin will have to leave it.
Saving the guild seems impossible with so many determined to stop them, but if Kelwin and Jorget stand together, they might find the strength to defy the odds and preserve all they hold dear.
REVIEW:
I was really happy to see this book show up for review. I really enjoyed the first book in the trilogy and knew I’d like this one. I have to warn you though, we got another sudden end on this one.
In Magic Wept, Andi Van continues the high fantasy tale we came to love in Magic Fell and again it is complete with magic users, dragons, elves, giants, and some nice, and not so nice, humans.
Not only do we get to see more of Tasis, Zaree and Kelwin’s story, but we get to meet another young man named Jorget. I liked Jorget from the get go. One of the first things we hear about him is that he is a magic user, in a land where magic is punishable by death, and he has just gotten himself stuck to a ceiling while messing up a levitation spell.
Jorget needs to learn more about his magic abilities but can’t where he is. His mentor sends him off to help these people who he doesn’t know, on a quest for something the evil King has been trying to get his hands on. Jorget, Tasis, Kelwin and the rest of their group will soon be experiencing new and dangerous adventures, in their search for whatever it is the King is coveting. They have no idea what they are looking for, nor do we, but we eventually learn what it is when they do.
Now, I’ll be honest. I really liked the story, but the ending was abrupt and now I’m going to be waiting for the next installment. It was quite some time between book one and book two. I’m hoping this one won’t take as long.
I flew through this book, and was so disappointed to get to the last page! I can’t wait for the next book in the Trilogy! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a high fantasy in the Young Adult market.

Have no fear, the final book is through edits (proofreads are due from me today, actually) and I believe the release time frame I was given is this coming Feb/March. Hopefully that’s soon enough that you’ll forgive me for the ending. 🙂
Thanks for the lovely review!
