BLURB:
Lorcán Kennedy is a take-no-prisoner vampire whose grit is tested when slain vampires start showing up in his sector. His investigation reveals a blessed weapon was used in the slayings, which leads him to a rogue hunter with a grudge against vampires.
Christian Wolfe is a no-nonsense hunter who believes the only good vampire is a dead one, but his code of honor keeps his hatred in check. When his integrity is questioned, he will do anything to defend it, including work with his enemy.
Vampire and hunter unite to solve the case, although for very different reasons. Lorcán wants to prove he is worthy of his Regent title once and for all. Christian wants to uncover who is framing him for the vampire deaths. It sounds easy enough, but neither are prepared for the desire that arcs between them when their eyes meet for the first time. When longing glances give way to passionate kisses and scorching touches, these powerful beings will learn that their bond goes beyond mere attraction. It is fate.
REVIEW:
I’m really enjoying this series. So much so that I flipped instantly to this book as soon as I finished reading book one. I mean instantly. I was supposed to go to sleep because I had to work the next morning early… but best of intentions and all that. I did manage to put it down and get some sleep, but once I picked it back up I read straight through to the end.
In Circle of Trust, we’re back in Chicago in the world the two authors created in Circle of Darkness. This time we’re focusing on the other business partner, Christian Wolfe, who we didn’t get to know that well in book one since he was away fighting evil elsewhere around the world while that story was taking place. I really liked getting to know Christian. We know his family was killed by vampires, but we don’t know much more about that until late in this story. What happens when Christian meets Lorcán Kennedy, the Regent of the Chicago area for the vampires? Sparks fly instantly. But Christian can’t be attracted to a vampire!
Once again, the authors tell a compelling story which as I mentioned above kept me turning the pages. I really enjoyed getting to know these two and each of their individual backstories. I was pulling for them from the get go and I wasn’t disappointed.
I’m enjoying the heck out of this series and now can’t wait for book three to come out. There was a teaser in the end of this one… and I want it now! I like how the authors pull the characters together, and I liked to despise the evil vampire in this one. I also liked that they made the evil vamp someone from history.
No spoilers. If you’re into urban supernatural stories, I highly recommend you pick up this series!
