An Omegaverse Story.
Single omegin Brogan Dale is jealous of the loving, stable relationships his omega friends have with their alpha mates. For years, he’s longed to find his own bondmate and create a family, but that hasn’t been in the cards. Just when he’s determined to take the first alpha who’ll provide for himself and his young son Peyton, Brogan scents him across a crowded coffee shop. Too bad his bondmate is the unstable alpha who nearly killed Brogan’s best friend last year.
Mikel Tovey is taking it one day at a time, adjusting to life on his own, away from the oppression and abuse of his cruel sire. All he wants is to complete his probation, make sure his omegin and brothers are safe, and find a way to live with all the mistakes he’s made. When he scents his omega bondmate, Mikel is initially terrified of the older omegin and his adorable toddler. But Brogan is handsome, kind, and Mikel is completely enamored of little Peyton. With his bondmate in his sights, Brogan does everything in his power to prove Mikel can be a good alpha, a good mate, and a fantastic father to Peyton. But when Brogan’s past comes roaring into his present and puts Peyton’s future at risk, Mikel’s resolve is shaken. He wants to love and support his omega during this crisis, but he doesn’t know how. With Brogan surrounded by friends and chosen family who love him, he doesn’t need Mikel’s insecurities weighing him down, too—but Brogan has found his mate, and he isn’t letting Mikel walk away without a fight.
This time, Brogan has too much to lose…
NOTE: This is a non-shifter Omegaverse story with alpha/omega/beta dynamics, heats, knotting, and mpreg. In this world, omegas are second-class citizens with few civil rights and almost no protections under the law—although times are changing for the better. Trigger warnings for physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. This series is best read in numerical order.
REVIEW:
Just when I think this series can’t get any better, *fanfare* she does it again! You laugh, you cry, you rage, you’re scared with them, happy for them, and everything in between! What a series this has been! AND there’s going to be a book 7! I can’t wait to see who it’s going to be.
Brogan was so happy for all his friends finding their bondmate and moving on with their lives, but his heart yearned for his own bondmate. He’d be happy with someone wanting him, but for some reason he feels like he’s cursed or ugly or something. On a lunch date, with his friend, Jaysan, he smells the most incredible smell in his life. His bondmate? But who it is, is a slight blow. Mikel. Jaysan has forgiven Mikel for the accidental stabbing. He was after all trying to take his own life. Not someone else’s. But Jaysan’s mate, Morris, isn’t so forgiving. With the bonds between the omegas, this is going to be hard. But something in Mikel’s eyes lets Brogan know there is more going on than most people know. And when Brogan finds out the extent of it, he’s even more determined to show this broken down alpha that he is capable of love and of loving. Even Brogan’s son, Peyton, is in love with Mikel. But Mikel has to learn that he is better than his past and his sire, and Brogan is determined to make sure he knows.
Each story of these omegas just tears my heart in two. But this one had a severe heartbreaking story from the alpha as well. All the alpha have kinda been through a little something, but this one takes the cake. What made it worse was Mikel’s story with Jaysan made the news, and some people weren’t so quick to forgive or forget. That’s what drives me crazy sometimes. People who are trying to change, honestly trying to change, and no one lifts them up. They get stuck on the mistake instead of the change and it’s so not fair. Despite his own bad story, and worse news throughout this story, Brogan was determined to make sure Mikel knew Brogan believed in him. That he had someone by his side, no matter how much Mikel fought him. But with Mikel’s past and his accident with Jaysan, Mikel is terrified to hurt Brogan. And more so, Peyton. Mikel would rather cut off his own body parts then hurt those two, and that was proof to Brogan right there that he was a good alpha. He cares so much for Peyton with all he does, does on the little man, cherishes Brogan and even is learning to cook to help his Omega. Yeah, that’s a good man trying to change, trying to be the best for his little family.
The more this group grows, the more I love. They have become their own tight knit community in a community. These alpha and Omega and their precious young have started a hope and a change in a community that needs to be shaken up. They make their voices heard, often at the expense of cruel comments and such. Sometimes more. But they believe. In equality for everyone. No matter gender, race, or anything else.
And on another note, was the man on this cover not sexy as hell???? So wonderful to see people of color and race on covers. So beautiful!
You guys are going to love this book. But bring tissues. It will grab you! Now I need book 7!!
