_Brought together by fate, torn apart by family._
Rachel Tregarrak, Penwith pack beta and daughter of the alpha, has
always called the rugged Cornish coast her home. With its beautiful
landscapes, bracing sea air, and vast spaces to run, she can’t imagine
living anywhere else.
After years of living with her mother in her grandfather’s pack, Sara Gallen returns to Penzance to be with her alpha father and her brothers.
She wants to build their relationships, get to know the rest of her family better than occasional visits allow.
When their paths cross on the full moon, the attraction is immediate and instinctive. But Sara’s father refuses to allow such a union and forbids any further contact. Sara finds solace with her grandmother in her alpha council residence, and Rachel is sent to a London pack to keep her out of trouble. Both women feel the desperate ache of an uncompleted bond, but unless they find a way to be together, it’ll fade to nothing and their connection will be lost.
REVIEW:
As, I have read and reviewed the other 4 books in this series, I was interested to see how Rachel’s story would go. I remember her from Cam & Garth’s book…so…I knew who she was and what brought her to the Regent’s Park Pack. As I love this series and can’t seem to get enough…I was really intrigued to get to this story.
Rachel…I really like her…She is Fierce and Loyal and she’s got such strength. I really enjoyed her character and watching her becoming so much more than she thought. Rachel whose heart is breaking as she’s unable to cement the bond that her and Sara formed and to be forced from her home…Rachel shows so much resilience by stepping up as a beta for Cam. I liked that she wants to do the very best job that she can and to help out the pack as needed. I like that she wants to also be able to help Nathan grow into the unit leader, eventually. Rachel’s love of her father and her pack…it shows the true character of a person who knows that they did wrong and understands that consequences of her actions. I liked that Rachel was ever so hopeful, even when things looked bleak for her and Sara….she still had hope. I really liked that Rachel had such a great support system in place…that made what she was going through all the more bearable.
Sara…my heart went out to her as her dad is a ginormous jerk. Sara has been raised in her mother’s pack after her parent’s spilt up and it was a good thing for her. To see how a pack should be lead. Sara’s father has these old-fashioned ideas that he inhereted from his father and hasn’t bothered to try to move the pack or his thinking forward. Sara comes home…to the pack where she feels is home and meets her bond mate and that is then taken from her because her father feels that that 2 people from the same sex is disgusting and that women should truly be there for bearing children…passing along bloodlines. Sara is heartbroken when he father forbids either woman from seeing each other and uses her grandmother’s position in the Alpha Council to futher his threat to the other pack. Sara has a great support in her grandmother and it was really wonderful to see someone her her side. Sara, like Rachel had hope that their bond wouldn’t break and that they could find a way to be together. I loved seeing how Sara finally stood up to her father…Alpha or not…it was really wonderful to see.
I have to say that the secondary characters…some were the MC’s from the previous 4 books…was great to see them again. Cam…my heart…I just love him to pieces…as anyone who has read any of my reviews for the other books can attest. Cam is such a good man and an Awesome Alpha. He really cares for his pack and wants only the very best for them. That again comes thru in this story as well.
I know that some people don’t care for the insta-love/bondmate thing…but I truly enjoy reading about two people who meet and know that they are meant for each other. I like that they know that even with that bond…that they are going to have to get to know each other and work to make the relationship work. I really liked that Rachel & Sara understood that. Accepted that and knew that it was going to be worth it.
I have to say that this book…as it’s not just about Rachel & Sara…but has elements to the next Regent’s Park Pack book…which totally makes me want it now…btw…to give a nice idea who the next MC’s might be as well as furthering the plot with the workings of joining two packs together, especially when there is bad blood there.
Overall, this was a great quick read. I really enjoyed it and it was a great book to help move the overall plot along. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.
