Sometimes you have to let go of your fears and start playing life.
When Ryan decided to spend his summer vacation in the tiny town of Augusta rather than in Sacramento, he expected to work on the house he inherited from his grandmother, go to the gym and train, and not much else.
He should have known better.
His grandmother’s house is a mess, and there’s no way Ryan can get it back to its past splendor on his own. He calls the Graves Brothers, a renovation company in town, and hires them to do the work.
When Kenny is offered the job on the house he’s been wanting to put his hands on since he was a kid, he jumps on the occasion. He doesn’t even care that Ryan, the new owner, is a player for the Sacramento Pelicans, his favorite hockey team.
Kenny offers Ryan his guest room until the house is ready, and they become friends, then more. But Ryan is in the closet and he’s not ready to come out and risk his career, while Kenny is still hurt over breaking up with his closeted ex-boyfriend.
Can they make things between them work even with all the obstacles and their own personal hang-ups? Or will their relationship be nothing more than a summer fling?
The next kiss was softer, slower. Ryan had said yes, and they had the rest of their lives to be frantic and to rush. Tonight was different—not the first time they had sex but the first time since they’d confessed they had feelings for each other.
Ryan pushed Kenny’s shirt off his shoulders, revealing pale skin and a hairy chest. He pulled the hair around Kenny’s nipple. Kenny arched his back, pushing his chest toward Ryan. Ryan chuckled and leaned down. He closed his lips around the nipple he’d been teasing. He flicked it with the tip of his tongue. Kenny dug his fingers into Ryan’s shoulders and tried to pull him closer. Ryan bit down lightly. Kenny jerked and slapped the back of Ryan’s head. “No biting.”
“But I like biting you,” Ryan whined
“You’re ridiculous.”
“I want to bite you, kiss you, lick you—”
Kenny’s cheeks were flushed when he kissed Ryan again. Ryan dragged his hands down Kenny’s sides and on his stomach on his way to the hidden treasure he was seeking. He stopped when Kenny sucked his stomach in and tickled him until he stopped.
“There you go,” he murmured, focused on his task.
Kenny grunted. Ryan slipped his fingers into Kenny’s underwear.
“Shit,” Kenny muttered when Ryan’s fingers skimmed the head of his cock.
“What do you want?” Ryan asked him.
He didn’t touch Kenny’s cock again, playing with the elastic of his boxer briefs and stroking the sensitive skin there.
“Touch me.”
“Where? How? With what?”
Kenny rolled his eyes. “With your hands, Ryan.”
Ryan took his hands away. Kenny whined.
“Why are you doing this to me? I just want you, Ryan. It doesn’t have to be complicated.”
“It’s really not. I want to know what you like. Sex isn’t just part A into slot B.”
“I know that. I just want to get naked with you.”
“Then tell me what you want.” Kenny’s cheeks flushed. It was unexpected, and Ryan realized that for all that Kenny had been in relationships before, he wasn’t too comfortable talking about sex.
“This is stupid.”
Ryan’s heart squeezed. He pulled Kenny closer and kissed the tip of his nose. “Okay. You don’t have to say anything if you don’t want to.”
Kenny was still not looking at Ryan. “Great.”
“Did I ruin everything?”
“Of course not. I just feel like an idiot when I try to dirty talk.”
“You’re not an idiot.”
“I know that. Can we just get back to the sex part of this?”
He didn’t have to ask twice. Ryan slid his hands down and pushed Kenny’s jeans and underwear down. He’d noticed Kenny wasn’t wearing a belt, and his jeans didn’t offer resistance as they moved down. They hit the floor, leaving Kenny naked in front of Ryan.

Thank you for the excerpt! The cover looks fantastic.
