Foodie’s Guide to Three Months to Forever
Hi! I’m Hudson Lin and this is the blog tour for Three Months to Forever.
Three Months to Forever is set in Hong Kong, and features lots of delicious Cantonese food. I’d like to introduce you to some of the mouthwatering dishes the characters enjoy in the story!
- Dim Sum – I like to think of dim sum as the Cantonese version of Spanish tapas; each dish is small in portion and designed to be shared by the entire table. Dim sum is traditionally served during brunch hours by waiters pushing around carts with the small dishes and diners can point to what they want to eat. Shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings, barbeque pork buns, white radish cake, and rolled noodles with shrimp are just some of the dishes you’ll find at dim sum.
- Wonton Noodle Soup – This is the Cantonese version of the chicken noodle soup: egg noodles in chicken broth, topped with shrimp dumplings, and sometimes a few sprigs leafy greens. It’s the best thing to eat when you’re not feeling well!
- Roasted Goose – Goose tastes a lot like duck, so much so that I can’t really tell the difference, haha. Crispy skin on the outside, salty meat underneath, covered with a slightly sweet sauce, it is delicious when paired with fluffy white rice.
- Hot Pot – Hot pot isn’t strictly Cantonese; various part of China all have their versions of this meal. It’s a boiling pot of broth set in the middle of the table and diners cook veggies, noodles, dumplings, and thinly sliced meats in the soup. There are a million different types of broth, and a million different things that can be cooked in it. The possibilities are endless!
- Macaroni Soup Breakfast – My favorite place for a macaroni soup breakfast is McDonalds. Yes, that’s right, McDonalds. Macaroni pasta is cooked in chicken broth, topped with a fried egg and a sausage patty (like the ones found in McMuffins). I know this sounds like the weirdest thing, but it’s honestly very tasty!
Are you hungry yet? I am! There are so many other delicious Cantonese dishes that I couldn’t possibly fit them all into one story. I hope you get to try some Cantonese food soon!

Three Months to Forever Blurb
Ben is looking for an adventure when he accepts a temporary assignment in Hong Kong, but he never anticipated how his life might change when he meets a sophisticated older man named Sai. Their initial attraction is sizzling and soon grows into more as Sai takes Ben on a tour of the city’s famous landmarks and introduces him to the local cuisine. Sai stimulates Ben’s intellect and curiosity, and for jaded corporate lawyer Sai, Ben’s innocent eagerness is a breath of fresh air. It would be so easy to fall in love….
But nothing is that simple. Sai’s job forces him to do things that violate his morals, and his relationship with his family is a major obstacle to any lasting relationship with Ben. Back in Toronto, Ben’s father is ill, and can he really leave behind his home for a man he’s only known for a short time? With the clock ticking, they must decide whether to risk it all and turn three months into forever.
