Hi there! My name is V.L. Locey and I’m thrilled to be here today! In case you’re not familiar with me I’m an MM romance author, primarily hockey romance, but I do also write non-sporty contemporary, paranormal, and mythological gay romances. Today we’re going to talk a bit about inspiration and its sources.
Where does your inspiration come from?
This is always a tough question for me to answer as there is no pat reply. Inspiration, for me, comes from a thousand different places. It can be a song on the radio, a stormy night, the smell of cigar smoke, or the laughter of lovers. I draw a lot of ideas from the world around me as well as TV and movies.
Also, since I write a LOT of sports romance, many of my plot lines will spring out of an incident on the ice during a hockey game. Many times the off-ice antics of hockey players may fire up a killer plot line as well. There are so many ways that an author’s mind finds new ideas it’s scary at times! Our minds never seem to rest, and that creative button seems to be stuck most of the time, but we’d never want it to be any different!

Mathieu Beresford was so close to seeing his dream come true.
The thirty-eight-year-old captain of the Buffalo Surge had led his team to the final round of the playoffs with his aggressive defensive play and leadership. The deeper Mathieu falls, the more he wonders if being lost might not be so bad after all.
