Good morning all! 
You’ll be reading this post the day after the 4th of July here in the U.S. Our country is a bit of a mess right now. I find myself cringing when people from other countries give me that look. You all know “the look” right? lol I have an overwhelming need to let people from other countries know all Americans aren’t nuts. WAY more of us voted for Hillary than for Trump. Way, way WAY more. If not for the antiquated electoral college, we wouldn’t be in this mess. We wouldn’t have a president who literally doesn’t care about the majority of the people in this country. And please don’t say he cares because a person who cares about us wouldn’t try to do away with pre-existing condition protection, and roll back banking protections or clean air and water protections just so his rich friends can make more money. All those protections were put in place by people who actually did care about the little people.
But I still love my country. Yes, I’m tempted to run away when I see the GOP doing nothing to stop this crazy person from destroying our democracy. But I don’t want to leave my home. The U.S. is such an amazing country when someone sane is at the wheel. I just keep waiting for someone to step up and put an end to this madness. I want America to go back to being respected. I mean, when you piss off Canada, you’re really doing something wrong. lol
I guess what I’m saying is I still love my country and I’m willing to stand up for all the things I believe in. America will truly be great again, but not until we get rid of the biggest swamp monster that has ever lived.

Well said. It’s hard to be patriotic when you are so embarrassed by and fearful of what the president is saying and doing. Here’s to hoping for sanity to return with with midterm elections.
I know exactly what you’re saying! I’m going to Canada this summer and want to put stickers all over my car claiming I’m an Independent or a Democrat!
