BLURB:
Ethan Sutton came to the stunning revelation that he’d fallen in love with his best friend, Sebastian Young. Although friends since childhood, Ethan vowed to keep his feelings for Sebastian under wraps
and live the rest of his life with this one secret between them rather than risk a lifelong connection and never see him again. But when they move into their own apartment at the start of their junior year, can
Ethan keep his feelings from showing when they live so close together?
Sebastian Young had an epiphany about Ethan at the end of last year and arranged for the shared apartment he’d found over the summer to be closer to Ethan and see if a relationship could develop between them. But as they settle into their lives in a new place with such close
quarters, ex-girlfriends, nosy downstairs neighbors, and Sebastian’s own doubts, is their relationship in jeopardy before it even begins?
Can two best friends admit their feelings and fall in love?
REVIEW:
Ethan and Sebastian had been inseparable since kindergarten. Ethan thought it would be the same for them in College. That was until Sebastian dated his way through most of the female population, only finding minimal time for Ethan. It was a difficult thing to endure, considering Ethan harbored hidden desires for his best friend. Sebastian used his college freedom. He tried his hardest but couldn’t find a connection with the myriad of girls he dated. Then, while out at a party, he had an epiphany.
Sebastian was the outgoing one, with a genuine smile and easy to like – easy to love. Ethan was the bookworm. The two are easy characters to love. Other than their ‘should I shouldn’t I’ feelings, both men know who they are and what they want out of life.
Told in the third person, the story contains alternating chapters from the boys POV’s. Therefore, there is some overlap of events, said in differing ways.
I found myself at war with my thoughts. It is difficult with a short story to get much depth in it, so I give kudos for keeping the storyline simple. Friends with unrecognised feelings, dumped girlfriend that doesn’t believe it’s over. There were parts that I loved, and other’s I found a bit of a stretch in this world of fantasy. Therefore, whether one decides to like this book will be determined on what you Achilles heels are in storytelling.
Fall For You contains plenty of fleeting glimpses of desire. Both characters are unsure if it was imagined and not sure enough to act upon it. Consequently, there is lots of body controlling to hide feelings. This part of the story I much enjoyed.
If the line ‘sex sells,’ rings true, then this is sure to be a hit. There is an abundance of scorching and searing kisses, and minutes for sexual recovery before going at it again. The ex – Amber has a serious problem with letting go, to the point where I believe she needs therapy. On a more technical note; one thing that I’ve always been told by editors is that autonomous body parts are a no-no, and in this story, hands definitely have a mind of their own. There are phrases that can be used to counter this phenomenon, but none are used.
Fall For You, is well sexed, and the characters are loveable. The proportion of sex to story wasn’t entirely my taste, but if one is after a distraction to titillate the senses and escape an afternoon, then this should do the trick.
