Sex is a lot like pizza. It’s good, but you won’t die without it…
Matteo’s always known he was different. Seeing his older brothers falling in love shines a spotlight on his own lack of desire. Modeling age play gear was a way to prove he could make his own decisions, nothing more.
Levi didn’t realize what a challenge it’d be directing the photo shoot for a new website. When he sees Matteo struggling, he instinctively falls into the role he’d given up years earlier: Daddy.
When Matteo discovers a side of himself he never expected, will Levi be able to show him that not all love begins with sexual attraction?
Discovery is the third book in the Kinky in the City series, but can be read as a standalone novel.
REVIEW:
I am fast falling for these Marino brothers and their mates.
We have seen glimpses of Matteo, the Marino’s youngest brother, and his clumsiest and lack of being able to keep attention to what was happening around him. Now that I know Matteo’s backstory, I see that his older brothers were just aware of his “quirks”, as he refers to them, and their love of their little brother. Even though he frustrated them they still wanted him to succeed. When Matteo agrees to help out his friend John with a photo shoot for his adult on-line store he had no idea he was going to be placed in an oversized nursery in a diaper! With his anxiety ramping up to full throttle it took the calming effect Levi, the photographer’s assistant, had to calm him and get him through the shoot. Levi was leery of making a play for the young man he was immediately attracted to. He had been burned in the past and knew not to get too attached because “Little’s” tended to “grow up” after working through their needs. But he just couldn’t get past his need for Matteo. What happens next when a “Daddy” and his demisexual “little” find that they can’t be away from each other?
I will be the first one to admit I had absolutely no idea what demisexual age play and “Little’s” even was! When researching what the term demisexual meant I had to agree that it fit the sexual side of Matteo. He was never attracted to another person until he met and got to know Levi. I was scared that the “Daddy” play would turn me off but, even though it was what initially brought them together, I grew to love and admire both men so it wasn’t as difficult as I imagined. Although, in general this really isn’t my type of kink to read, I found it fascinating to see how grounded Angel became, especially after a scene. ADHA and anxiety are difficult to function with individually, but having to live through both disorders together, and both of those seemed to be especially severe cases, would have made life extremely difficult to function and very frustrating. For Levi to not only recognize these in Matteo but help him find a way to function was thrilling to watch. I know Matteo was reluctant to meet with a professional therapist and start medications to help him function. Many balk at the medications but I think the therapy would be helpful for both men to attend.
As I stated in an earlier review for this series, I had originally though that this was only going to be about Frankie and Calvin, Matteo’s older brother and his fiancé, and their exploration into D/s relationships. It turns out that this series is pushing my “kink button” on the different types of kinks all these brothers are into. While I might necessarily not seek out these type of books I found that they were more of a well researched introduction into the kinks. They have been an opening of my eyes to the different sexual differences/needs that people have. I am both intrigued and worried at the same time to what the next brother’s needs are. This has truly been an education for me. I am growing to really love this authors writings and look forward to more.
