Lucas Vallois and Andrei Hadeon are finally ready to walk down the aisle. There’s just one small problem.
A ghost from Lucas’s past shows up days before the wedding, desperate for help. Against his better judgement, Lucas and his best friend, Ashton Frost, plan a fast trip back to the one place they swore they’d never go: their hometown in Oklahoma. But the danger is worse than they expected.
Now, they’re in a race to track down a killer, keep a young girl safe, and get Lucas back in time to say, “I do.”
This installment reminded me of everything I loved about the initial books. It made me want to go back and reread Lucas and Andrei’s story, as well as Snow and Jude and Rowan and Noah’s. This one is a little different though – it centers around Lucas and Andrei, but it is Snow and Lucas who go back to face their pasts. When a simple trip turns out to be much more than first appeared, and the danger is kicking up, it doesn’t take long for Andrei to join the party. Likewise, when things really start to heat up, Rowe shows up to help as well.
Lucas begins to make amends with his sister after she shows up for help when the niece he didn’t know he had goes missing. This trip is having a bit bigger impact on Show, however, as he is facing some major demons from his past. His goal was to move past them so he could be more focuses on his relationship with Jude. Always having Lucas’ back, he doesn’t hesitate to stand behind him once again, even though things are a bit rougher than he imagined.
As bad as their families were/are, Lucas and Snow have made their own way and created their own family. This trip has solidified that and reminded them of that. At the end of the journey, we made it to the big wedding! These guys are so perfect for each other, and it was great to see them finally make the big day happen. I don’t think Ian would have survived if they had to cancel or postpone again!
Needless to say, it was fabulous seeing all these guys again. They make up an amazing unit, and it’s easy to see how much they all mean to each other. I’m really glad these guys had more to show us, and that this trend looks like it will continue through the next one. If you haven’t picked up this series yet, you are truly missing out. Highly recommend.
