REVIEW:
This was a good chemistry sparking book. Nothing like a dragon and a merman to get the juices going. I think the only thing I wanted out of this was a little more. More to their relationship, getting to know each other. And more to Aoki getting to know his dad. After all those years, it was like a quick explanation and everything was ok. I just want a little more.
Batair never knew loneliness like this. But seeing his brother and his mate and all their children made him empty in a way he’s never known. When he caught a whiff of the scent of his mate, that made it worse. He wanted his mate and he wanted him now. After his mom pleaded with Neptune, Batair was granted permission to leave the ocean and go search for his mate. His brother has called ahead and had people and things ready for him. Working at the little restaurant, Sisters Three, was ok but he was getting impatient. One day, he was sitting to eat amd the earth literally shook. And the most delicious smell overwhelmed him. When he laid eyes on his mate, he felt home and so much more. But his mate wanted no part of it. Aoki ran and fast. Through time and patience, they got to know each other and Aoki’s dragon made the decision for him. After fighting with his dragon for control, the dragon wanted his mate and now. And the dragon got his wish. But obstacles barred their way of moving forward in their relationship. They had to overcome them to move on. Hopefully they can before it’s too late.
It’s hard to trust that you have a mate and it will be good when the examples in your life show that mating is bad. Aoki wanted no part of being a mated pair. But seeing Batair made his mouth water. And other parts come to life. But he ran. He was not going to subject himself to being a mate. Ever. Batair had to learn to be patient with Aoki. And that was not easy for him either. Being a Guardian, he’s used to being in charge and everyone obeying him when he says boo. He also had to get used to the fact that his body wanted to submit to Aoki and his dragon. He never submitted for anyone. Guardians don’t submit. They take. This relationship was so different from what either were expecting and both had to make a lot of adjustments to make it work. But hey…what relationship don’t lol. And no matter how much the chemistry flew, they had to work through everything to get it right.
This was a cute little book. I enjoyed it. There is another before this. And if you don’t read it, you won’t be too lost. Some of it is explained in this book so you know what’s going on. Perfect little story to curl up to at the end of the day or just whenever. Happy reading!
