REVIEW:

I was thrilled to find an early copy of Mr. Lyhne’s newest Ore 5 book in my email yesterday morning. I’m not so sure I was thrilled this morning after getting up 4 hours after I finished the darned book. 2AM it kept me up until! There was never a spot where I thought to myself, okay I’ll set it down for the night now.  Darned thing pulled me in and kept me enthralled right up to the cliffhanger ending. I’ve already messaged him this morning and told him I wasn’t happy about the 2AM or the ending, but hey, it wouldn’t be Meraki P. Lyhne if it didn’t end in a cliffhanger of some sort!

Let’s talk about the story. We’re back at the strip club on the mining colony of Ore 5. We rejoin our heroes Ethan—the shy accountant, and Ryder—the strip club owner, in their developing relationship. As you’ll remember from the first book in the series…and I’m assuming you’ve read it since I raved about it when it came out and I can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t have picked it up immediately…but I digress. Back to the relationship. Things are heating up and this story picks up the next morning after the first book’s ending. There is still nefarious activity happening in and around the Black Ryder strip club. Strange things are happening with prostitutes, pimps are getting more aggressive, and now a young rent boy has caught the eye of Ryder as a new dancer. But are they prepared for the trouble that will come with him?

I really am enjoying the characters and storyline in this series. I can’t wait to see where it goes from here. The ending was a total surprise—but no spoilers. I would say this series would appeal to anyone who enjoys a light, fast moving storyline with a smaller cast of characters. It is set on a mining colony far from Earth but isn’t hard sci-fi by any means.
