So, he stays with Mateo’s agency and keeps on taking clients, refusing to call them dates because that’s too personal.
Until Takashi.
Now their both trying to make the best of the brief moments they have together, blurring the lines more and more with every passing night. Takashi wants more, Zander wants to give it to him, but only after he gets the rest of his life worked out. Only problem is, he has no idea how.
REVIEW:
*Sigh* I love romance. But in life it takes work. But anything in life worth having is worth the work. I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet and intimate.
Takashi hasn’t taken time to enjoy life in a long time. He’s not been on a date or anything. Since he and his ex broke up 5 years ago, it’s been able about work. But he’s noticed lately everyone seems to be slowing down work wise and taking more time to date or spend time with family. And they all seem to think he needs the same. Needing a date for a gala for work, he decides to take his boss up on his offer and call an escort service. What he expects is someone more or less flaky, asinine or whatever. What he get is Zander. Zander is just amazing. He’s beautiful and intelligent and so full of good morals, Takashi wonders if he should pinch himself. Zander gets so much out of life and Takashi loves seeing things through his eyes. When the event is over, Takashi doesn’t want it to end. He can’t get Zander out of his mind. He asks for another date for another time and enjoys himself again. He needs to find a way to see Zander outside of the service. And he succeeds. Eventually. Zander has been up front that things in his life are rough and he can’t handle a relationship but Takashi wants to show him a different way of life. He woos him. He shows him so many things. Life tries to get in the way, but they work to make it better and to see if what they have is worth keeping.
‘Zander’ is so incredible. And yes, Zander is not his real name. But you have to read to find out. I love him because in this day and age, morals seem to fly right out the window. But not for Zander. Even being in the escort business, he refused to back down and sleep with someone. He could be a provider/companion without having to compromise his virtues. And I love that. Even when he and Takashi started dating, he made it clear, he wasn’t ready for the whole thing sex wise. And I love Takashi for not pushing or rushing him. Or making him feel bad about it. He supported Zander no matter what. Especially when he found out what was really going on in his life. He wasn’t always happy with the decisions, but Zander had to lead his own life. I love that just the simple things made them happy. A simple walk on the beach collecting shells. Admiring the scenery. Enjoying life. So often we take life for granted. Takashi certainly did. But being with Zander made him see what he had been missing out on. He remembers taking time to vacation and enjoy everything around him, but work took over. Zander gave him new life and he was determined to do all he can to give that life back to him.
Take time to cherish those you love. Woo them. Enjoy the scenery. Enjoy life. Don’t take things for granted and don’t let life suck the life out of you.
