Lucky Tyler Holloway has never felt particularly lucky. Frankly, he’s about as regular as can be. He works construction with his brothers, loves his small-town life, and shares a close bond with his family—especially his grandmother. Okay, so maybe he has a few secrets in his closet, like his bisexuality…and that other thing he doesn’t talk about… Maybe that’s why he’s always felt a little like an outsider.
Grayson St. Claire has it all: a dream job in LA, money, freedom. Saint has no attachments, which is just the way he likes it. Still, he’d be lying if he didn’t admit he missed his deceased parents who were the only family he had… Until he gets an e-mail from some guy named Tyler revealing the existence of a grandmother he’s never met, and prompting Saint to drop everything to drive across the country.
Saint and Tyler couldn’t be more different. Tyler hates the guy on sight, but there’s something about Tyler that gets under Saint’s skin. It’s not until they get to know one another that everything begins to change. But the Holloways and St. Claire’s have secrets, and their pasts are tied together in tragic ways they don’t know about. The odds are stacked against them and between their distance and their differences, Lucky and Saint have to admit that love alone might not be enough.
Goodreads – Something About You
Tyler kept the radio off as he drove home. It was late, and he had to keep his brights on to illuminate the dark, woodsy streets. He loved it there, loved home. There was never anywhere else he wanted to go, but in some ways, Sienna had been right. He did feel lonely, only he couldn’t really say why. He had Sienna, Nana, Alice, and a small army of brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces, and nephews; cousins and aunts and uncles. He had friends…so why was he lonely? Why did he feel as if he just didn’t always fit right in his own skin? Didn’t fit right around others, even the closest people in the world to him.
Why did he crave things, different things, that he just didn’t understand?
All the lights were off at home when he parked. He heard a coyote howl in the distance as he walked from his truck to the house and unlocked the back door.
After grabbing a glass of water, Tyler went downstairs to the basement where he stayed. It was quiet, almost too quiet, but he didn’t turn on the TV, his iPod, or anything else. Instead he took a drink of his water, set it on the bedside table, and stripped.
As they always did, the pipes made a familiar clunk, clunk when he turned on the shower. The hot water pelted against his skin. Tyler blinked slowly, the curve of Saint’s shoulders flashing behind his eyelids, the smooth brown of his skin, the cocky grin on his face…
No. No, no, no, no.
He was not going to think about Saint…but he knew that was a lie. Tyler poured liquid soap on his hand, let it drift down his body. He stroked his cock, soaped his balls, as a tingle started at the base of his spine.
Why the fuck was this man in his head, and how the hell did he get him out?
But as Tyler jacked his dick, as he squeezed, putting the right amount of pressure, the why of it didn’t matter. Just the square cut of Saint’s jaw. The muscles in his arms. His eyes as he’d lifted the sunglasses from them.
“Fuck,” Tyler gritted out as he rubbed his hand over the head of his dick, paying it extra attention.
Had Sienna been right? Did Saint like men? Did he want Tyler? What would Saint do to him…and what would Saint let Tyler do to him, as well?
He tried to fight back the thoughts, to deny them, reject them, but the walls wouldn’t build fast enough. He saw Saint sitting on the edge of his bed, in jeans, no shirt.
Tyler fucked into his hand, his balls feeling heavier, aching more. He shook his head as though that would make the fantasy go away, but it didn’t. Somehow it was as if he’d stepped outside his body, as if he saw not only Saint, but himself. Saw Saint unbuttoning and unzipping Tyler’s jeans. Felt warm, strong hands against his skin. Saw Saint lowering Tyler’s pants to reveal what he had beneath. They were lace this time, and white, the panties tight against his ass, high cut so part of his ass cheeks showed.
He saw the hair on his own legs, the thick muscles of his own masculine thighs, the bulge of his own dick wrapped up in the pretty, pretty lace. Tyler wanted to be pretty that way. He jacked himself faster, squeezed tighter, leaned his head against the wall of the shower as water cascaded over him. Fantasy Saint lowered the panties, pushed the lace beneath his balls, and sucked the head of Tyler’s cock into his mouth.
“Fuck!” jerked out of the back of his throat as his orgasm ripped through him, a powerful exposition on his senses. Ribbons of thick come splattered the wall, once, twice, fuck, three times, leaving his body weak, shaky.
Tyler didn’t move, just let the water pour over him as he fought to catch his breath.
What the hell was wrong with him? That was weird, right? Craving what he did, had to be strange.

I live in a small town, so books about small towns feel familiar to me!
What is your favorite thing about books written in a small town? I’ve lived in a small town and depending how inclusive the town is, it brings a feeling of closeness, friendship, and togetherness. Unfortunately, the small town I lived in in southern VA was NOT any of that, although I did write a short based on the town, homophobes and all 🙂
Congratulations and much success!
