He wrote a comedy. Fate directed a romance.
Drew Beaumont is bored of the same old roles: action hero, supervillain, romantic lead. He’s not going to let a fresh gay buddy comedy languish just because they can’t find him the right costar. No, Drew bats his eyelashes and convinces everyone that the movie’s writer should play Drew’s not-so-straight man.
Aspiring writer Steve Sopol has never had a screenplay optioned. Now one of Hollywood’s hottest properties wants to be in a movie Steve hasn’t finished writing—and he wants Steve as his costar. Turns out the chemistry between them is undeniable—on and offscreen.
Drew swore off dating in the biz, but Steve is the whole package: sharp, funny, humble, and cute. For Steve, though, giving in to the movie magic means the end of the privacy he cherishes. Will the credits roll before their ride into the sunset?
REVIEW:
I don’t know why but this book just made me happy! I am so thankful I found this new-to-me author!
Steve is more than surprised when his first movie script was not only optioned but superstar Drew Beaumont has asked to be the lead in his little indie film! Drew is bisexual and has always wanted to do a gay movie but it had to be the right one. When he comes across a partially written script, while snooping on his agent’s desk, he knows he has finally found a winner, what he didn’t know at the time was he found much more than a movie role!
This was just the book I needed right now! It was sweet, it was fun, it was sexy! There wasn’t a lot of angst, which was perfect for this book, and it just filled my heart with hope and love. I loved both men and all the supporting characters. The chemistry between both men was fabulous. And the fact that they took their time really worked for me. But when they finally quit stalling and gave into their desires it was explosive. I really liked how the author held out on little details until just the right time. I don’t think it would have worked if Drew knew who Steve was before they finally got together. The timing of this entire story was spot on and it flowed perfectly.
The only thing I wished was that we might have had an epilogue after that final paragraph. I don’t know if series or novellas can come from Dreamspun Desires books but I think that this could easily become a series. These men are perfect together, and when you add in Steve’s mom and dog, you are in for a treat!
If you are looking for a fun, romantic book then I highly recommend this one. This may have been my first book by this author for me but, if the rest of her writing is this good, I can assure you that it won’t be my last!
