Luke Emerson is the last person Sebastian Wakefield expects to see strolling into his tattoo shop. But Luke’s not back after four years to take up where they left off. Not even to apologize for the cheating that broke them up.
Luke wants a custom tattoo, a memorial for someone known only as “A.J.” Much as Seb would love to tell Luke to take this ink and shove it, he’s a professional. Plus, he’s reluctant to admit, he wouldn’t mind getting his hands on Luke again. Even if it’s just business.
Once Luke’s in the tattoo chair, though, Seb finds himself struggling with all the anger and resentment he thought he’d left behind – and those aren’t the only feelings reignited. Their relationship may have been turbulent, but it was also passionate. Four years clearly hasn’t been long enough for the embers of that fire to go cold.
A few subtle hints from Luke is all it takes to make Seb consider indulging in some of that physical passion. It shouldn’t be that tough to keep his emotions from getting tangled up in sweaty sheets.
After all, it’s not like he’s in love with Luke anymore. Right?
REVIEW:
Luke walks into Seb’s tattoo shop like their past never happened. Luke is cocky and confident, Seb wants to yell and kick him out right away, but there are customer’s in the shop and he needs to act professional. So Seb bites his tongue, tries to pawn Luke off onto his shop partner, but Seb wants Luke to do his tattoo, and no one else. Luke was a cheater and a liar and Seb doesn’t want anything to do with him. But when Luke tells Seb he wants the name A.J. above the tattoo, Seb is hurt. Why couldn’t Luke have loved Seb like that? Seb has two long tattoo sessions with Luke. Will they be able to settle their past and concentrate on a future? Or is Luke the same person as he was 4 years ago?
Let me just say I wish the book would have been longer. Just when I was starting to believe Luke had turned a new leaf, it ended. I don’t like cheaters and I almost always believe that once a cheater always a cheater. But Luke had been young at the time and I can see someone cheating when they were younger (22 or younger) as opposed to their 30’s. Maybe if they had been in their 30’s, It would have been more believable. I did love the writing though and the story was really good, I just feel like it was cut off at the wrong point. It needs more.
Thier sex is hot and amazing. It excited me a bit more than other books which is always a good thing! But I can definitely attribute that to good written dialogue and narration. Nick does a wonderful job, as always. The sexy times are the sexiest. He does wonderful dialogue between Luke and Seb, going back and forth. He brings strong emotion to each of the guys. There is nothing about his narration of this book that I would change!!
All in all, the book has a beginning, but not much of a middle, and no good ending. Most of the 4 hearts I give it is for what actually was written and for Nick’s narration. I definitely would love to see a second book with these two in it! We need more!
