REVIEW:
I am really starting to get into these Mpreg stories and this is a good one!
Ryan is an Omega Paralegal working at one of the most prestigious law firms in New York. But he feels like he is invisible to the department he has been assigned to. When a need for a paralegal in another department comes up and he is reassigned he is thrilled to be getting out of there until he realizes who he has been assigned to! He can’t possible work for Marcus, the ultra sexy Law Partner that he has been crushing on since the first time he saw him. Marcus is a top rated divorce lawyer , something he’s exceptionally good at. He watched how his father had treated his mother growing up and he wasn’t about to let that happen to anyone else. When Ryan, the object of his lust for the last three years, is suddenly reassigned to his team he has no idea how he is going to make it through the day with that gorgeous man right outside his door. It all comes to a head when they wind up a bit tipsy at an office party and one thing leads to another. Marcus has always known he wasn’t relationship material. His father’s shining example burned in his head but how can he give Ryan up after he has is first taste!
I think this is one of the better mpreg non-shifter books I have read. Although it seemed shorter than it was and I just couldn’t put it down until I was finished. I did feel a few of the important parts of the story was glossed over a bit. I can’t believe that, when Ryan had been so brutally injured by his fanatic family, he wouldn’t be hospitalized overnight for observation at least. And isn’t there someplace closer than Las Vegas to fly to? I know they had to get married fast but the life of your loved one and unborn child was at risk here. And flying that many hours just seemed a bit of a gamble. At the very least I would have brought along some kind of medical personnel.
I really enjoyed getting to know both Lance, Ryan’s best friend and roommate and Eric, Marcus’s best friend and law partner. I can’t wait to hear more of their story! I hope it’s next and that we finally get to go to Marcus and Ryan’s wedding reception.
The author’s note at the end of the book really got to me. How can parents treat their own flesh and blood so awfully. It hurts my heart to think of any parent to callous and unloving in the true sense.
Great start to a new series that I can’t wait to read more of.
