Frankie Ramirez never figured helping a twink-in-need would lead to him finding a bestie, but that’s exactly what happened with Evan. Living with him at Metropolis has been a dream come true. Evan’s sexy, kind, knows how to make Frankie smile, and he’s both hilarious and confident when he sings his heart out during karaoke. Evan’s been dealt a bad hand, and Frankie likes being there for him, but Evan does the same for Frankie. When life gets heavy, nothing fixes it like movies, Chinese food, and Evan.
After the betrayal of his dick-of-an-ex, Evan Lockhart has a hard time getting close to people. But the one guy he can always count on is his laid-back, adorable, beanie-wearing bestie, Frankie. Frankie is fiercely loyal and protective-exactly what Evan needs in his life right now. Evan tells him everything, but when he finds himself curious to explore something a little unusual-maybe a little strange-he worries about what will happen if Frankie finds out.
But who better to explore your closet kink with than your best friend? Evan and Frankie know they’re strong enough not to let something like this get between them. And really, is there any harm in just TRYING IT?
REVIEW:
This was a sweet, fun, cute, kinky little story. I wasn’t expecting this one to be as light as it was. Knowing what Evan had gone through with his ex and the drama with the other characters I was expecting more angst. It was nice that the authors put most of the drama to rest in previous books. I loved the connection Evan had with Frankie as well as the other characters from past stories. And while I liked this story and I liked Evan and Frankie, this wasn’t one of my favorites in the series.
Frankie and Evan met under pretty crappy circumstances. After having a dramatic spat with his ex, Frankie came to Evan’s rescue securing his place as Evan’s savior and best friend. Now, as roommates Evan and Frankie are closer than ever but Evan still suffers from his own internal struggles. Frankie wants Evan to get out more but Evan battles anxiety but when he stumbles on a kink that could possibly help him he scared, hesitant, and excited.
Frankie and Evan explore the kink together knowing they’d be safe with each other. What starts as innocent exploration slowly shifts to something more between them. Both weren’t looking or expecting to stumble into a relationship with the other but that’s what slowly starts to happen.
I think Frankie and Evan as friends made sense and worked well with the story. I kind struggled with the relationship between the two. I get that they were friends, had a solid foundation so being lovers who shared a kink should have worked for me but I don’t know…I felt like something was missing.
Another thing that bugged me was Frankie’s constant use of “sperm donor.’ I get that he is a POS…that’s apparent I just think that specific phrase was overused and became grating.
Overall, though this was pretty cute, sexy, crazy hot, sweet and a nice addition to the series. Devon and Riley work well together.
