BLURB:
After 10 years together, Ethan Mallory and Rhett Solomon are calling it quits and are ready to move on. Thanks to Seattle’s depressed real estate market, though, they’re stuck living as roommates with a hefty mortgage hanging over their heads. In an effort to speed things along, they decide to bring in some extra money by renting out the spare bedroom. Wilde’s bartender, Kieran Frost, moves in, and suddenly, the only thing Ethan and Rhett both want more than getting away from each other is getting close to their single, young, hot roommate. Kieran doesn’t mind the attention from both, and he certainly doesn’t mind sharing. Their combined chemistry ignites something else that Ethan and Rhett had thought was long dead – the mutual attraction that drew them together in the first place. Except bitter jealousy over Kieran could push them even farther apart….
REVIEW:
Ethan and Rhett have been together for 10 years but the past couple of years have been horrible. Constant fighting, looks that could kill, not wanting anything to do with each other. They both want out of their mortgage but can’t sell quite yet so they have to bring in a roommate to help with the cost. In comes Kieran. A twenty something hottie who just started working at Wilde’s as a bartender. Both Ethan and Rhett want him. Bad. Hot sex ensues, with 2 of the above and all of the above. But way too emotional feelings and hidden jealousy get in the way. Ethan and Rhett are confused and everything goes down with Kieran in the middle of everything. What’s going to happen when everything crumbles even more?
This book was very different than any other book that I’ve read or listen to before. Maybe it’s because I don’t think I’ve ever read a book about an established couple. Through most of the book I kept on thinking that Ethan and Rhett’s relationship was doomed and there was no way they were ever going to get back together. But that is for me to know and you guys to find out. Honestly though, its it’s a really good read and you will be happy at the end. The book was really well written but it did have quite a bit of angst. I kind of wish we would have known a bit more about Kieran, but the book isn’t really about him in particular. Also I wish we would have had more at the end of the book between Ethan and Rhett. I would have liked to see how well they meshed when they weren’t having sex or fighting.
The sex scenes are some of the best that I’ve ever read or listen to, thanks to L.A. Witt and Nick J. Russo. And there are quite a lot of them. But I think that there is a good mix of story and sex. To me that’s about half and half, lol. I swear, every time I hear a new book with Nick as the narrator, he gets better and better! From the characters to the dialogue, to accents, Nick does so well. Oh my god, his voice is like silk and satin woven together. His voices for all three are intricate and wonderful, and I can figure out who is talking at all times. I honestly can say i have no constructive criticism, nothing I would have liked to hear differently.. nothing.
I look forward to listening to more from Nick and reading more of the books in this series. Especially Kieran’s story. I can’t wait!
