Fire and ice. Oil and water. Vodka and decisions. That’s what Darren McCoy and Wren Davison are: two opposites that shouldn’t mix well. Dare believes in fairy tales, true love, and happily ever after. Wren believes in fast cars, freedom, and no-strings sex. What can these two men possibly have in common? A magnetic pull strong enough to obliterate logic and reason.
For more than a year, Dare and Wren have worked together at the Curl Up and Dye Salon. Dare has pursued the mysterious, brooding man, and Wren has resisted his provocative charm. Then one day, something happens that allows the men to see each other in a new light. Wren learns that Dare hides a heavy heart behind his brilliant smile. Dare realizes that beneath Wren’s gruff exterior beats the heart of a prince.
Passions ignite once the men stop fighting their attraction, but will it be enough to overcome their differences? Is Wren the prince that Dare is looking for? Can Dare teach Wren that true love does exist?
Nobody’s Prince charming is a modern-day fairy tale where some princes ride Harleys, and castle walls are built to scale. It is the third book in the Road to Blissville series but can be read as a standalone book. This book contains sexually explicit material and is intended for adults eighteen and over.
REVIEW:
I LOVED this very emotional story. It was relatively low angst and easy to read. The men had great chemistry and the story held my interest from start to finish.
This book had the potential to be this huge angsty thing. So much so, that the tension and the constant “almost angst” kept me reading because I NEEDED to know if this was going to get bad or not. In the end, the angst ended up being more a potential than a reality and that really worked for me. The execution of Wren’s growth and healing was slow, steady, and full of love.
My favorite part of the story was Dare’s sass and snark. He was so full of life and just pushed all of Wren’s buttons. It was so much fun to see these men interact and have these moments of levity within this otherwise emotional story.
Dare’s grandfather was adorable. He was such a loving man and was really a great way to show Dare’s kindness and compassion.
I loved the father angle as well. It took away from the romance, but it enhanced Wren’s healing and learning to let people in. It gave Wren depth and explained a lot of his assholishness. There were times I wanted to just beat him because he was really acting stupid. But I also understand it isn’t easy to let go of preconceived notions.
In the end, this story was very well done. These men were forces of nature in their own rights, but together, they helped each other be the best they could be. I can’t wait to get glimpses of them in the future.
