The title alone hooked me on this one!
Frankie is all about doing everything to please his family and honor his dead father’s wishes. Wishes that he had absolutely no desire to fulfill. But that is who he is…a pleaser, usually at his own expense. So when he wants, no needs to get a moment of peace in his mind he resorts to the one thing he knows will help…bowing at the feet of a paying man to use his mouth as he sees fit. Calvin is just helping out his friend Eli to keep his provisional liquor license at his bar Cub 83. When he discovers who is “working” the customers at the bar he is more than shock! And more than a bit turned on. To see his young roommate Frankie servicing a customer in the backroom surprises him more and he has to get to the bottom of his story. Can a 41 year old man and his 28 year old roommate have an arrangement without each of them loosing it all?
I know that they refer teasingly to Calvin as “old man” but seriously 41 isn’t that old and 13 years does not constitute a May/December romance to me. Some people just prefer their mates to be more mature and developed. I loved that the author included Calvin’s ex-wife, fiancé and his son in such a positive and loving way. And I loved that Ryan, his son, acknowledged how fortunate he was to have step-parents-to-be that were wonderful. Not all of his friends were that lucky. This story wouldn’t have been complete without Frankie’s big, loving Italian family.
I see this as more an introduction to all the characters-to-come in this book series plus the blooming relationship of Calvin and Frankie. I will warn you, if you are looking for a hardcore BDSM book this probably isn’t for you. This is more of a look into the kink and pretty tame.
I was really getting into their story and happened to glance down at the bottom of the page to suddenly have a WTH moment. This is one of the only reasons that I’m not a fan of ebooks. I have no compass when a sudden ending appears. I’m not going to label this a cliffhanger but it is darn close! Luckily I know that this is the first book in the series because I am left with a whole lot of questions and need the answers. I am just hoping the next book continues Cal and Frankie’s story. I am sure we will be getting more book/books on at least one of Frankie’s brother but I need their story wrapped up first. I feel like we are just getting to the level of trust both these men need to progress with their relationship. Now I would like the true exploration of their kink to begin. I feel like they have only taken baby steps and we now need then to move forward. Plus they need to resolve the issue with Frankie past. I don’t see any of the men in Frankie’s life letting that go.
Great new book and can’t wait for the rest of the series.
