Hi everyone!
I’m Jen B., aka JustJen. I’ve always been an avid reader, reading everything from fantasy and paranormal, from Danielle Steele to Steven King before discovering romance and then erotica. I was a huge series reader, spending many hours scouring the used book stores to feed my growing addiction. It wasn’t until I joined Goodreads in 2011 that I really discovered M/M, and I never really turned back, though I do make an exception every now and then. 🙂 The day I got my first Kindle, I realized I could read and not have to worry about hiding the covers from prying eyes, and my reading craze really took off.
In early 2012, I was approached by Hearts on Fire and asked to review for them. I was honored and excited thinking what a great set up! I could read tons of books in exchange for writing honest reviews – my wallet was really going to be happy. Little did I know that was the start of a very long and fulfilling journey.
That same year, I was asked to join the Blog of Sid Love where I was reviewing with a few other close friends I had met through Goodreads. It was there I met Dani for the first time. From there, 3 of those friends and I decided to start our own reviewing blog, and The Blogger Girls was born. I’d always kept in touch with Dani as she took over Sid Love and then turned it into Love Bytes, eventually giving in to her requests to join Love Bytes as a reviewer. Since that time, I’ve helped out with some of the other blog aspects as well, though I mostly focus on reviews. I now split my time running The Blogger Girls and being a part of Love Bytes Reviews.
I love being a part of the Love Bytes Team. Reviewing is a ton of fun and it’s a great way to meet people. I’ve met some really good online friends and had the pleasure of meeting many of them, including some favorite authors . Finally meeting Dani last year was long overdue and definitely one of my highlights.
Love Bytes offers a large group of diverse people, and if you ever thought about reviewing, don’t be shy! Since my journey began, I’ve reviewed almost 2,000 books in one form or another. I love finding new books and authors and love to help others do the same. I tend to read more of the darker stories, generally steering away from the light and fluffy, hearts and flowers, but there are plenty of people sharing those, so no worries there.
Thanks so much to everyone who follows my reviews and continues to support the blogs, and, in turn, the authors who provide us with our reading crack! Feel free to hit me up to chat books or to just say hello. 🙂
And to Dani, congrats and happy anniversary! Here’s to many more years of friendship and fun!
