BLURB:
An alpha werewolf chasing his dream meets an omega fighting for his life in a strictly temporary marriage of convenience…
Alpha werewolf Beau Jeffries has been going it alone ever since he was cast out of his pack as a teenager for trying to help a human and endangering the pack’s secrets during the tumultuous years when the wider world was learning the truth about werewolves. He hasn’t lost his drive to help others, and he’s about to begin a prestigious medical residency–only to learn that, as the first werewolf the program has knowingly accepted, he’ll have to follow special rules, including the one that requires him to be married when he begins his residency.
Omega werewolf Roland Lea is just trying to survive. After escaping the last and worst in a string of abusive relationships that left him scarred and unable to conceive, he’s found safety in a refuge for homeless omegas. But despite the help he’s getting at the refuge, he just keeps getting sicker instead of better, further and further from being able to make it on his own. When he’s offered the opportunity to sign up with a mate-matching agency, he figures he has nothing to lose. No alpha is ever going to want an omega like him.
When Beau sees Roland’s profile, he knows at once what’s making the omega sick, and he’s determined to help. If he can persuade Roland to marry him, he can save Roland’s life while Roland helps him get through his residency. But will their hasty partnership be enough to bring them both through what’s ahead–and can temporary necessity lead to real love?
REVIEW:
You authors are KILLING me with these omegas. And I love absolutely every minute of it. I think I have, no, I know I have another favorite to add to my list. I wanna take all these sweet omegas and take them out for omega night and love them and squish them and *sigh* Rory. I loved this book. I love Rory and Beau and they’re so special. Rory especially.
Beau is starting a residency at a new hospital and the fact that he’s a werewolf is setting some people on edge. They gave him a ‘choice’ to ‘help’ him. Find a pack or find a mate. With his bad experiences with packs, he decided to find a husband. One look at Roland, (Rory), and he knew he needed him. Rory needed Beau too. Beau could tell from looking at Rory, he was at the omega refuge to die. The doctor in Beau couldn’t do that. And who knows? Maybe things would work out. So he set up a prenup to keep Rory safe. No matter what happened to their relationship, that was important to Beau. That Rory was safe and cared for. Rory figures he can’t lose with this setup, thinking no alpha will ever want him again. So they get married. But what turns out as an arrangement is slowing becoming something more. Beau is like no alpha Rory has ever known. But Beau makes mistakes too, and it may cost him everything he’s ever wanted in someone like Rory. They have to learn to trust after all they’ve been through and learn that they have each other’s best interest at heart.
This relationship for Beau and Rory just seemed like it was going to be doomed from the start. Going into an ‘arranged’ marriage, so to speak, with a prenup to allow Rory to have an out any time he wanted, seems like it would be a bad thing. I mean, any little thing, and boom, it’s over. Both come from rough family lives, and Rory’s life after that was hell on Earth. He felt he had no hope left. The alpha he was with and the midwives he employed took everything away from Rory. Or so he thought. He thought he was broken. He felt broken, dead inside. And the suppressants he was on were slowing killing him. He just wanted to die. No alpha would ever want him. What was left for him? (Oh my gah, Rory just broke my heart.) Thankfully, Beau needed a husband. And even though it was a match set up for him, Beau knew from one look that he had to help Rory. If he could do nothing else, he had to help this omega. He had to build him back up and help him live again. (And oh I love Beau for all his goodness!) Beau showed Rory what it was like to be treated like someone special. He was kind, loving and everything came at Rory’s pace. If Rory didn’t want it, it usually didn’t happen. Everything was for Rory. And I cried. I bawled like a baby. Beau was so tender with Rory. He gave all of him in every way he could. Yes, he made mistakes, but it was all for Rory’s benefit. Even submitting himself for Rory. That’s a perfect alpha. And he stole my heart.
This book was amazing. One I want to read over and over. I have a special place for omegas and this grabbed at my heart. I recommend it wholeheartedly and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
