After Drew’s hired as an intern in Tad’s company, he gets his chance to show his stuff—in and out of the bedroom. REVIEW:
This was a sweet story about moving and and finding new life and new love. While it was a sweet story, it left me wanting….something. More. I’m wracking my brain trying to figure out what. I think maybe I wanted more to the relationship with Drew and Tad.
Tad thinks he’s going nuts. After months of being without his ex, he can’t take anymore. He misses Bobby and wants him back. Maybe if he gives him what he wanted, things can go back to the way they were. In one drunken night, Bobby comes to him. It felt like home. But when he wakes up, Bobby is gone. Over the next few days, it continues to happen. Until Tad has enough and tell Bobby he wants him back. But Bobby can’t. And Tad finally finds out why. Now things make sense, but not at the same time. Meanwhile, the barista, Drew, where Tad gets his coffee everyday, is waiting for his chance. He’s been pining for Tad for years and can’t wait anymore. He’s tries to get him on a date but when that doesn’t work, he figures maybe he can use his college smarts and get a job with Tad. When he does, it’s a dream come true. When Tad finally notices him for him, that’s another one. But he doesn’t know if Tad can get over his ex and move forward with a future with him.
I felt sorry for Drew in this story. Pining for someone for so long and knowing they don’t see you the same way is heartbreaking. Finally making your move and getting shot down, is even worse. What makes it harder, is Drew has no clue what’s going on in Tad’s life or the things Tad is dealing with. He just knows he wants in Tad’s life. He wants his chance. And seeing how sad Tad is every day is eating at him. It’s hard when we see someone we care about suffering. Even if it’s a crush. He wants to bring life back into those eyes. When Tad finally notices him, he wants it so much, but he doesn’t just want to be some one-off. Or just a filler for a hole. He wants it to be all or nothing. And i can’t blame him. But then I feel just as bad for Tad. He’s not over his ex in any way. He wants him back. He wants that love they had. And seeing his face in everything he looks at is killing him. He doesn’t know how to move on. He wants to give Drew a chance but doesn’t know how. He has to learn how to let go. And that’s never easy.
Losing a loved one in any way is devastating. Whether a break up or something else, it leaves a hole in our lives. Trying to move is virtually impossible. But somehow, one day the light seems to come on and the darkness fades away and we can breathe again. We just have to keep moving.
