BLENDED WHISKEY (Agents Irish and Whiskey Special Short)
Release Date: March 17, 2018
In Blended Whiskey, Agents Irish and Whiskey officially tied the knot in an oceanfront ceremony on St. Patrick’s Day. Perfect for the Irish-Southern pair who’d first begun to fall for each other in an oceanfront condo while working a case. Standing beside them at the ceremony were Aidan’s brother, Daniel Talley, and Jamie’s best friend, Cameron Byrne. What did the best men have to stay about Irish and Whiskey during their reception toasts? Read on to find out…
Danny’s Toast
Thank you, and thank you all for joining us. I’d like to start with a toast, not to the grooms, but to the fact that there were no bombs, hijackings or kidnappings today.
(Mel interrupts: Way to jinx it, husband!)
*Waves her off* Despite what my wife says, I call that a win! So drink up!
And I call this union *gestures to Aidan and Jamie* a win too. I first met Jamie by phone, while he and Aidan were working their first case together, and I remember hearing the sparks fly between them on the other end of the line. That fast. And then the morning I met him in person, Jamie was half dressed and my brother was wearing his—
(Aidan interrupts: Daniel!)
*Waves him off, winks at the crowd* Let’s just say sparks flew for real, quickly. But it wasn’t just heat between them. I saw in my brother’s eyes something I’d feared lost. Something I’d worried he’d never find again. But he did, with Jamie. That first spark of love I witnessed grew into so much more, and it’s what we’re celebrating here today. All I ever wanted was for my big brother to be happy, and you gave that to him again, Jamie, so thank you. And to you, big bro, thank you, for taking a second chance on love, for being the example I look up to, for teaching me to pick locks *all the AIW team groans* and for being the reason I met my wife.
To Aidan and Jamie. Sláinte!
Cam’s Toast
I’m gonna start by begging your pardon, twice. One, for not being so eloquent or funny as Danny. And two, for toasting with my beer, because the last time I drank fifty-dollar a glass champagne the boat got high-jacked and I do believe in jinxes.
And the beer is damn good. *tilts the bottle at Nic*
Most of you know how Jamie and I met. For those who don’t, that one *points at Jamie* broke my leg in a basketball game, and earnest fool that he was, he kept trying to make it up to me by showing up at my family’s boat every summer, even though his sea legs are for shit.
*Aidan and Danny nod*
That broken leg was the best thing that ever happened to me. I got a best friend out of it, another brother for all intents and purposes, and more than that, a role model when I needed it most. Jamie says I recruited him to the FBI, but he’s the reason I was able to join the Bureau in the first place. Had I not joined the FBI, then recruited him to join the Bureau, then these two *tilts his bottle at Jamie and Aidan* may never have crossed paths. And that would be a fucking shame because I don’t think, besides my parents, I’ve ever known two other people so well-matched. You’re still leading by example, Jamie, one that I can only hope to follow. And Aidan, my new partner, I’ll be following you from now on too, literally, otherwise your new husband will have my ass, and I do not want any more broken bones. Nor do I want any for you. So that’s what I promise to do, whatever it takes to make sure you two are safe and happy, as you both deserve.
Cheers!
