BLURB:
After attending a friend’s wedding in New York, James Thompson is eager to go home, even though no one will be waiting for him at the gate. He has no expectations for his trip back to Charleston other than long lines, security, and bad airplane food. But when an annoying—albeit hot—stranger cuts him in line, James is determined not to be a pushover for once.
For Mika “It’s Mee-kuh, not Micah” Bailey, today’s just another day of boring work travel. That is, until his flight gets delayed, and some irritating (but handsome) guy keeps hogging all the good power outlets. Which means war. In the middle of an airport. In New York. What could go wrong?
Eventually, they declare a truce, and as they get to know each other, their attraction overwhelms them both. Terrified of what he’s feeling, Mika suggests a no-strings hookup, but serial-monogamist James wants more. If they don’t fight for what’s right in front of them, their romance might be canceled before it ever takes off.
REVIEW:
This was a cute, fun, believable enemies to lover’s story. I’ve read a few stories from Quinn Anderson and I’m not sure that I’ve disliked any of them. So, I shouldn’t be surprised at how adorable I found this story. It had these contentious elements that only made the attraction and chemistry between Mika and James just that much better. I finished this in one sitting. It’s on the shorter side but it’s one of those stories where you just have to keep going because you have to know what’s going to happen next. I lived for Mika and James word sparring and flirting…when it explodes it’s hot as hell!
James and Mika are both young and even though their initial interactions weren’t the best they both recognize the unique connection that they share. These characters couldn’t be more opposite in personality but as the story moves forward you can tell that every opposite there’s at least 2 or more things they have in common.
I really needed this story. I didn’t even realize how much until I was well into it. This is low angst, sweet, fun, cute, and light…I needed light and sweet…and this story delivered.
Overall, this was a great story. Quinn Anderson has an amazing way she goes about building a story. Her characters are always so real and endearing. Definitely recommend!!
