Dean Harper is the type of doctor anyone would want to bump into in an elevator. He’s devilishly handsome, deeply caring, and has a pair of sapphire blue eyes that pierce right through you. He was well on his way to having the perfect life with whom he thought was the perfect man. Well, until he found that perfect man cheating on him with three other guys. At the same time.
Noah Silver is having a difficult time. With his mom passing and his dad growing more and more difficult to live with, he’s pushed into an unorthodox way of making money. He knew that being a cam boy would be temporary, but he didn’t realize how drastically it would change his life.
He had no idea he would meet the man of his dreams because of it. He also had no idea he would become the target of a serial killer because of it.
Dean’s world gets turned upside down when Noah, the guy he’d been fantasizing with through a computer screen, ends up in his exam room. Their connection is immediate, even though Noah has no idea Dean is behind his online crush. They both have issues to work on, but can either of them pass up a chance like this? Or are they both throwing themselves into harm’s way?
Code Silver is the first book in the Sierra View series. It’s a full-length, steamy gay romance that can be enjoyed alone and has no cliffhangers.
REVIEW:
Noah seems to think he is going nowhere with his life. In his apartment with his mentally and verbally abusive father, he has to get out of there before his father kicks him out with nowhere to go. Dean is a good-hearted doctor with a past cheating boyfriend looming over him (quite literally). He doesn’t think he will ever want a relationship with someone again.
Dean sees this beautiful man on a website he stalks every once in a while. They start talking, but Noah never sees the face on the other end of the screen. Until he ends up in someone’s office, wink wink. Sparks start flying and Dean is always trying to find the right moment to tell Noah that he has seen him before… many times. Noah and Dean’s relationship starts heating up, but there is a serial killer roaming around the states killing only men. Noah finds out the connections between the killings and himself. Things start to get complicated and a bit creepy. Dean finally convinces Noah to stay with him for a while until this killer is found. Noah is totally safe in Dean’s upscale L.A. security-walled complex…. right?
Dean and Noah are one of the most romantic and hottest couples I have ever read and listened to. Dean is so sweet to Noah and they have amazing chemistry together even before they ever meet. Oh my, when they meet, I swooned, laughed and loved them together right away. There are a few small parts about kidnapping and the killer does talk a little about what they have done in the past (just as a warning). But there isn’t much and it’s near the end of the book.
Max is one awesome writer. This is the first book I’ve read/listened by him and I fell totally in love with his writing right away. The characters are so well written, I want more of them. The story had the perfect amount of love, sex, mystery, and a bit of suspense. And I was totally shocked in parts of the book! That rarely ever happens.
Jason Frazier has one steamy voice! I am always looking for new titles with him as a narrator. It’s smooth, sexy, breathy, and oh so sweet. His transitions from character to character are seamless. The sexy scenes are hot. I feel like the characters have MORE character with him as their voice. I do think that he needs to work on some parts as the killer. I can’t say too much without spoilers, but the killer’s voice wasn’t really convincing and kind of lackluster. BUT it didn’t ruin the book, and I still LOVED the writing and the narration. But everything else was wonderful!
